1/15/2009 4:30:07 PM
I guess having freezing cold feet is better than being dead although they are probably freezing their asses off standing on that wing though
1/15/2009 4:30:08 PM
damn those wings are strong to support all those poeple
1/15/2009 4:30:09 PM
great that everyone is okay.
1/15/2009 4:30:20 PM
that's some damn good response time. I commend those people.also commend the pilot. gg dude
1/15/2009 4:30:25 PM
The wings are full of gas and thus buoyant.[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 4:30 PM. Reason : .]
1/15/2009 4:30:39 PM
That is an A320, not an A380, like someone said before.
1/15/2009 4:30:44 PM
I think it is pretty sweet that the plane floats
1/15/2009 4:30:59 PM
this is why i <3 twwflock of seagullsbig bird oh and i found somewhere that the water temp is 0.4 degrees celsius [Edited on January 15, 2009 at 4:32 PM. Reason : ]

props to the pilotno pun intended
1/15/2009 4:31:34 PM
If I were sane I would nor know which one of those people was Jesus since they are all walking on water.
1/15/2009 4:31:41 PM
word is that jake delhomme is still on board
1/15/2009 4:32:55 PM

kamakazi, terrorist birds.
1/15/2009 4:39:40 PM
i want in on this auction.seriously though, how did that thing not break up when it hit the water?
1/15/2009 4:40:35 PM
this has already been said, but props to the pilots...to ditch in the river at such an angle whereas not to destroy the plane and avoid all the buildings is pretty impressive
1/15/2009 4:41:03 PM
The pilot kept the plane level.
1/15/2009 4:41:30 PM
that guy in the city thought it was a terrorist attack
1/15/2009 4:41:40 PM
^^^^ He glided it into the water and was already at a low altitude and probably a lower speed since the engines were out. Planes can make water landings without breaking up.[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 4:42 PM. Reason : carats]

1/15/2009 4:43:06 PM
you would think a wing would catch and rip off and then it just goes to hell from there . . .the pilot gets major props.someone must have the landing on vid. let's see it.
1/15/2009 4:43:20 PM
The Pilot is an Eagles fan.
1/15/2009 4:44:19 PM
^^ If he had not landing level, yes that could have happened.[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 4:44 PM. Reason : ^^ turn on CNN]
1/15/2009 4:44:30 PM
i wonder if he was Navy or Air Force trained. Air Force pilots usually have smoother landings but Navy pilots are often more well versed in landing on a variety of surfaces..
1/15/2009 4:45:17 PM
I assume he went full flaps when he realized that he had to ditch, then just let ground effect kick in until he stalled.
1/15/2009 4:50:35 PM
you think the bird made it?
1/15/2009 4:51:30 PM
flaps deff. at 40 degrees
1/15/2009 4:52:09 PM
flock of geese apparently is what took it down....JCASHFAN has an interesting take on geese...[Edited on January 15, 2009 at 4:52 PM. Reason : z]
1/15/2009 4:52:29 PM
If you want my opinion, this is the real flock that took down the plane. You know how pilots are
