you more of a bitch than a bitch...

my boss has these "meetings" in the morning, where he pretty much bitches about his kids and how hard it is to raise them and his life troubles...I'm all, "I came here to get payed and make it rain, not come to group therapy for your ass"

i just think of how much of a loser he is for sharing this with me...

You'd actually be surprised what kind of jobs are out there for that degree combo. They're just not as obvious or well known as say, computer programmer. And they're not all at the State Department and UN

do i get the finder's fee if i recommend you take up either photography or painting (potentially both even!) like kiwi and sell it on etsy - she seems to be making tons at it because being a successful artist is pretty simple - go that route! i'll expect my check to be in the mail soon

no kidding.

I got rewarded pretty handsomly for my non-engineering degree. Reason being...gasp...it involves a specialized skill that's in demand, but not many people possess/are qualified for.

I haven't done anything related to my Microbiology degree for 5 years now. And I am making over double what I would make if I stayed in that field.

one might even call that plan.....diabolical.

but in all seriousness, I think bobbydigital put it best when he said a few times 'college kids think that people are just going to hand then a job when they graduate. thay don't realize that you have to get your ass out there and network."

hahaha, I have engineer in my title too.

True.

I think his point isn't so much to extend a middle finger to anyone who's never done manual labor, so much as it is to say that your problem isn't finding a job. Your problem is finding a job that you want.

Beggers can't be choosers--if you are out of work, you just might have to take whatever's available, then switch to a "good" job when the opportunity presents itself.

I'd rather have an easy job than be a better person. Fuck all that noise.

V Depends on how loaded my parents are.

I'd like to get a job at D.H. Hill when I graduate; I got a contact with one of the main librarians through my previous job working shitty retail at Linens N Things. I haven't been employed since they went out of business.

exactly.

when I lost my job back in the summer I actually applied at UPS for 3rd shift the day after I got laid off. I never actually started because I landed my job here within two weeks of being laid off at my other job. But if I wouldn't have gotten this job, I would have been slinging boxes at 2AM, because you gotta do what you gotta do.
