My 2nd cousin once removed has a "mail-order" bride. He works in Saudi Arabia and she is a doctor. I've met her on a couple of occasions. ^ The English in that is so bad that it has to be intentionally like that. It takes a decent amount of knowledge of the language to write something that badly that still makes sense. Upon further research, an immigrant only needs to stay married to a U.S. Citizen for 2 years to obtain a permanent Green Card.

Once the immigrant gets married to the US citizen, they get what is called Conditional Permanent Residency. After 2 years of marriage, they can file with the USCIS for Removal of Conditions and get a permanent Green Card. After that, they can get divorced and still maintain their Green Card. Furthermore, they only need to live in the US for 1 more year to apply for US Citizenship. Damn, now I see why all those Russian broads are looking for American hubbies.
