brilliant concept, although I think it would be impossible to do because people love to group together and give themselves a label. human nature.

however, at the same time, do away with automatic withholding so people actually have to make their tax payment every year.

voters in this country would get a lot smarter, fast.

The benefit of the party system is if you have two candidates with very similar views, they don't end up splitting votes and let an opinion shared by fewer people rise in power.

I don't think it's possible. Agree with ^^ - as long as people have the right to collect under a certain label, they will. You can call it something other than a party, or you can try to make it so party politics play less of a role in lawmaking, but that's about it.

I agree with that. If people actually had to sit down and contemplate how much they were paying in taxes, they would probably start getting pissed. It's easy when you never see the money - but when you're mailing in 500 bucks to the government, you know exactly what that 500 bucks could buy, and what the government is taking from you.

Look, loser: People that actually read whole threads, all know what you did here. We can read. What you posted is so fucking clearly what I said it was, that only a complete idiot could think otherwise. Only those who skim threads for emotional rather than logical content will have any chance of believing your back peddling lies. Get a fucking life you stupid fucking troll.

Woodfoot: Statement A.
someone else: Oh yeah? "Statement A?"
Woodfoot: I never said "Statement A", I said "Statement B"
someone else: Um, no you didn't **posts quotes** **post more quotes*** QED
Woodfoot: No, you're mistaken, I said "Statement B"
someone else: NO YOU MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT. YOU ARE BACKPEDDLING NOW.
Woodfoot: I never said "Statement A"
someone else: who the fuck are you, you fucking troll?
Woodfoot: **thinks** ("Got 'em")

I am through with you. Anyone who so chooses can go back and read this thread. YOU KNOW they will agree with me as to what you meant. It is clear that you are a stupid immature troll that cares not about serious discussion. As I already said, get a fucking life you stupid fucking troll.

actually, WoodFool, you are wrong.

he didnt type "libertarian" 6 times.
he typed it 9 times.

and then filled half the page with a huge, flapping, animated U.S. God Bless America United States Flag of the Star Spangled Banner -- just to underscore how patriotic he truly is.

Quote :
"Despite a few "small bumps in the road," libertarianism is getting bigger and stronger, and no other "third" party has ever done as well. Sure there are some libertarian "nuts" who's devotion to ideology compels them to lose sight of reality, but there are democratic and republican nuts, as well -- so you can't just generalize all partisans as being excessive.

Nearly everywhere you go, there are thousands of people who haven't even heard of libertarianism only to find out that they are quite libertarian-minded. libertarianism is in our blood. Our country was founded on libertarianism. This is a libertarian country with a libertarian constitution. The two "major" parties have taken turns raping our precious constitution, and Bush didn't leave much left for Obama, but he'll no doubt take his turn as well. libertarianism is our destiny, and while it may be a little unpolished and naive in its nascence, it will undoubtedly rise to save this nation."

don't expect too much from Willy. He's just another hackneyed dispenser of worn-out cliches. He's like the kid who just read Thomas Paine or Ayn Rand, and now has all the answers to the world's problems.
