because a wave off is a direct order to the doctor to stop the fight, its not contestable by the fighter

Okay, you certainly know more than me on the subject. I think BJ would have gone out there and took his beating for 1 more round if he had to, but I didn't get the impression that he wanted to. His brother probably came to the same conclusion and felt the need to protect him from himself.


What's all this about the vasoline now? That's some fucking bullshit if GSP really was out there all lubed up.

To me it seemed like after the 3rd and 4th rounds he was using the fence to hold himself up to catch a breather. He wasnt even looking at his trainers for most of the break in between rounds.

You definately know more about this shit than me BHS but it definately looked like penn did not want to go back out for that final round, or at least was not really looking forward to it.

Dont all the fighters put vasoline on their faces? Or are you talking about vasoline on his arms and legs type shit?

edit: just read the news about it. Seems like the official whiped it off right after he did it. Trainer is probably not going to be a ringside trainer anymore
