$texas. I don't feel like driving to Raleigh and climbing.

Your kitty will be ok though, he'll come down on his own when he gets hungry enough.

yeah but a dead cat in a tree is an eyesore, and the HOA might not be too happy with me.

Poor kitty. I'm surprised he survived the cold, especially after getting hosed.

Is it beyond extension ladder range? Go rent a ladder from one of those equipment rental places (hell, you might could rent one from home depot).

it is at least 50 feet up. good news is that he is pretty much at the top of the tree and can't climb any higher.

bad news is that he isn't meowing much anymore.

i have to work all day tomorrow from 7am till 10pm. (wrestling tournament)

You're going to have to hire someone, man.

That cat is officially too stupid to back it's way down.

Haha, another cat story I have...my mom's cat was stuck up a tree for like a week once so they decided to cut down the tree. The tree is in the falling process and the cat leaps from that tree onto another one to stay there for a couple more days. Crazy cats.

This is what I don't understand about cat owners

Why do you want a pet that requires your attention to care for it and keep it alive yet despises you, runs from you, and generally wants nothing to do with you in appreciation for your efforts it's like voluntarily adopting a teenager I don't get it

I had a cat once and we were nothing but nice to it. I come home from school one day and its being aggressive towards me so I get up on the rocking chair (back up onto it), it jumps a good 4 feet in the air towards me mouth open and I jump over it somehow (not sure how I kept my balance to jump off the chair).
Well I run inside the house and next thing you know we are at the pound.

for the record i don't really like cats either... that's why mine don't come inside.

then again, I don't want them to die... mine are VERY social... this one is just dumb.

just like its only erosion if your property is on the beachfront

^well you are right that it is not stuck. it came down last night.

It really is just a lack of intelligence. The claws work great going up, but are useless coming down. Cats do, in fact, die in trees. Some pass out and fall. Vets see substantial fall injuries all the time.

I'd imagine house cats are more prone to it since they don't have any climbing experience.

Honestly I would have called someone after the cat got sprayed with a hose. That throws all sorts of new variables into the survival/getting down situation, especially in the cold.

On the other hand, I also would never have sprayed my cat with a hose. What were you thinking?

determine a harmonic of the tree and shake it at that frequency to fling the feline out

[Edited on February 9, 2009 at 1:03 PM. Reason : oh, i see it came down... put it back in the tree and give my theory a shot, see if it holds water]
