^haha, yeah that was great.
I mean, it was entertaining. It didn't really have any epic plot twists or suspense moments like the previous episodes. It just really seemed to close off all the loose ends that had been going on recently...I was hoping for something like, Taco's cousins rolling up a few hours after and wondering wtf happened to their relative. 3/23/2009 2:24:20 AM |

I really like the overall pace that Breaking Bad takes. I'm glad they haven't tried to fill every moment with insane action, suspense, etc. Look where that sort of writing took Nip/Tuck. Look at the cinematography used in some of the opening shots of every episode this season. It's refreshing to find a show that doesn't drag the audience through the same untalented writing/camera work. 3/23/2009 5:26:22 PM |

When he climbed the fence and fell through the portapotty, I thought about the Trading places scene when Akroyd gets pissed on, rained on, gun fires a dud, throws gun, and gun goes off.
Episode was pretty slow, but it served its purpose. Next episode aught to be pretty bad ass.

yeah, it's good they're covering all the bases with all the characters - they're really keeping it as realistic as possible and not trying to pull anything over on the viewers. e.g. How Skyler is reacting and how she knows Walt is full of shit.
It's better than other shows, like Weeds, where they just kept amping the action up and up and up and it just got ridiculous, instead of focusing on the characters and their stories 3/30/2009 11:00:02 AM |

this show was never trying to be an action packed adventure, and if that is what you were looking for then look elsewhere...it's all about in the in-between moments that reveal the reality of being a criminal of this sort. The big payoffs that you are looking for will come, but only in due time...this show is not for assholes with the attention span of a 7 year old.4/6/2009 3:23:50 AM |

Hank was having a mild heart attack in the elevator right? The 'haunting' comment through me off. But yeah, this episode was pretty good. Walt's wife is a fucking bitch. 4/6/2009 8:16:18 AM |

Yeah, both Walt and his wife became raging cunts in this episode. I guess Walt really needed to do it for the business, but it seemed like a pretty big change from his previous demeanor.

No shit. I've been watching the show since the first season. The last couple of episodes were simply a big change from both the first season and the preceding episodes since they focused more on character development and having everything quiet down rather than advance the plot.
Is it what the story needed? Yeah, probably, since Walt and Jesse just killed the resident drug lord and went through an upheaval of their operation. Are these development episodes as fun? No 4/6/2009 4:01:21 PM |

glad they're cooking again. Last season those were some of the best scenes.
Jesse's tall friend, with the raspy voice (what commercials was he in? Midas?) is going to be trouble. It looked like Jesse wasn't expecting him to come to their meeting, and Jesse gave him the old stink-eye before he left 4/6/2009 9:24:04 PM |

anyone still watching?
the opening music video was brilliant - well done, a great way to tell the story, funny
and all the scenes with Hank were hilarious. except for the last one, of course.... i didn't expect him to react like that to the head.
i noticed it earlier in the season, but the guy playing Jesse is doing a really good job this season. Last season I thought he was a bit over-the-top and annoying, but this season he has the character dialed in perfectly. 4/20/2009 11:43:58 PM |

that was awesome. The lawyer is hilarious, and honestly - they need someone like him. It was always a horrible idea to have Jesse and his lackeys in charge of distribution. Badger was trouble from the beginning.

the only nit-pick I have about that episode is that when Walt drove up and dropped Jesse off, then went and blocked Hank's view with his car, the other two police vans should have seen something was up. The either would have seen Jesse get out of Walt's car, or they would have seen Jesse say something to Badger before he got up and switched benches. not a big deal though. Just hope they keep it up. The lawyer will be a great addition as a character, and will also be good for their little operation. I wonder if the Hank/El Paso story is over for good, or if he'll be called back there, maybe as he's making some progress on finding the real Heisenburg 4/30/2009 4:27:45 PM |

exactly what I was thinking - without something like this, the show would have inevitably gotten closer to the jump the shark moment. This will give them credibility as actual drug dealers, add more characters to the show, give an in-depth case for Hank to work on, a connection with Saul's Mexican clients perhaps, etc. Excellent writing... this episode has me even more excited for this show because I was afraid it was kind of reaching the light at the end of the tunnel4/30/2009 8:18:39 PM |

I hope they didn't bring Saul in for a one-time funny-man thing, and he won't be back. I was thinking he would be a regular character now.
And we need more Hank at the DEA too, to see what the DEA's progress is on finding Heisenberg.
I keep forgetting that they have used the pink teddy bear in the pool, what - 2 or 3 times now, to open an episode? This one showed that some crazy shit is going to go down at Walt's house, though. Wonder when that showdown will happen. 5/12/2009 5:01:36 PM |

I thought I had the wrong episode downloaded for a while... and I was pissed until I realized it was a little different from the others
I'm sure Saul will be back... they just didn't need him in the storyline of Walt quitting. He was way too prominent in that episode to be a one-time thing5/12/2009 6:42:24 PM |
