1st Note: Sorry I dinged your door trying to get out of my car.

2nd Note: Sorry I hit it again getting back into my car to get a paper/pencil to leave the first note. I was more careful this time though.

Its possible that when he parked somebody was similarly parked on the other side of him and he was left with no choice but to park that close to you. Of course, if I ever have to do that I'm always tempted to leave a note on my car that says "hit it if you need to" just because my car is a piece of shit with no cosmetic value whatsoever

nope...i specifically pointed out that he was in the LAST space of the row...there's no way a person could park next to him on the other side...the only possible reasons for him to park that close are:

1.) laziness
2.) indifference

if he simply didn't notice, i put that in as a mix of laziness and indifference, as parking (by several inches) in another person's spot (when there's a car already there) is the result of not caring enough to make an effort to check

i certainly don't go banging doors wherever i go, but if someone's poor choices cause me a serious inconvenience (as in, standing in the rain while rearranging my backseat space while my stuff gets wet waiting outside), i really feel they should pay for it

*shrug*

depends on the level of damage, if it's a door on door assault then probably nothing, if it's a bumper on door holocaust then i'd leave a note and some cash or something or insurance number depending on how many jews died

wait i didn't do that right did i?

I, too, will throw open a driver side door if the idiot next to me parked over my line......

It's not like you just have to judge how much space you need to give, there are lines there for a fucking reason......

I would leave a note that states the following:

"Dear Owner,

I'm sorry that I dented your car. I wasn't paying attention and backed up into your bumper. I'm writing this note to you to apologize for my mistake, and because a group of people are looking at me in the parking lot. I figure that since they see me writing this note and going through my wallet, they probably think I'm a responsible person that is giving you the information that you need to contact me for repairs. In reality, I'm just waiting for all the witnesses to leave so I can get the fuck out of here before you come back. Well, it looks like everyone that saw the accident is gone except me. Time to go. Sorry again and you should really get your bumper fixed.

Todd"

^^^what if that "idiot" was forced to because of someone parking badly on the other side of them? In the tiny-ass spaces on campus I've had to do that on multiple occasions--I try to leave enough room so the other driver can get in/out, and if given the choice I'll leave more room on the passenger side and make it harder for me to get out. But I certainly hope you consider the circumstances before retaliating.

If I left a noticeable ding, I'd leave a note. I've been on the receiving end (someone left a big-ass dent in the back door of my old Malibu and didn't leave a note) and it sucks. Little stuff, though, not as much--I will confess to letting my door go inadvertently at the mall a few weeks ago and leaving a little scratch on the car next to me. I felt bad but didn't say anything--it was tiny and the car was not immaculate or anything. Nonetheless this probably makes me a bad person.

i'm talking about people who are parked over the line and in my spot. Like they pulled in crooked and were too lazy to back it up and straighten it out and now the back end of their car is in my spot.

The same goes for those assholes who thinks their car is so nice that they park diagonally taking up two parking spots. Love to park in the spot right next to those cars, but i park within the lines....... RAWR RAWR RAWR you're an asshole, but hey i'm the one who is parked legally......

despite how i'm portrayed (perhaps how i portray myself), i don't just randomly fly off the handle and start whacking people's cars

there is NO possible way someone could have parked on the other side of this guy...if i had a picture, i'd post it, but i don't...there's a waist-high cement pillar (about 6 inches in diameter) painted yellow on the end of the row, about 3 feet from the LINE on his driver side...it's positioned so that if the person parks like they should, it doesn't affect the doors opening, but it DOES prevent someone else from parking next to the end (there's gas line access there, i think)...there simply isn't space

i'm not saying they didn't have their reasons (maybe they were terrified the cement pillar would be too close)...i'm just saying that they had no VALID reasons for parking as they did...and if they had some sort of crazy circumstances that REQUIRED that they have 5 feet of space on the driver side (where the pillar is), they should have parked 4 or 5 spaces down where there were a good 20 open spots

yes, yes, i'm a horrible person who never has any valid reasons for doing anything...and yet, i sleep just fine at night...better, in fact, knowing that i HELPED someone realize their error and helping to ensure that they don't let it happen again

^ don't you get it? it doesn't matter what the circumstances are, YOU'RE A REAL PIECE OF SHIT AND YOU ACT SO TUFF

If someone parks too close, the passive aggressive thing to do is to let the air out of their tires, at least two of them.

One time I cut somebody's throat for snoring too loud.

I mean, it's his fault, if you don't want your throat cut don't snore so loud.

But he was asleep and didn't hear me do it, so it's all good.
