aside from duke, we have been one of the better acc tourney teams with both herb and sidney, so anything is possible

ncstatetke's head might explode if that happened. perhaps if that happened and Sid beat Herb, then maybe he'd shut up about ASU.

i remember watching the NCSU UNCC first round tourney game at a bar in Charlotte...it was kinda hostile during the game

i think they kept calling brackman (i think it was brackman) "powder" like the dude in the movie and we kept calling their 3 point shooting white guard "miss piggy"...cant remember his name...pavlich or something

[Edited on February 25, 2009 at 9:45 PM. Reason : pavlich?]

bttt. how does our win affect BC's seeding and status? If they completely melted down and lost their final regular season game and in the first round of the ACC Tournament, would they still make it in?

I think they'd still make the tourney, but would probably be one of the last teams in

If they lose their last game, they'll be 8-8, 6th in the conference

They beat Duke and Carolina (in Chapel Hill). Losses to Harvard and St. Louis won't help, though.

With Miami and VT losing the other night, the ACC probably only gets six bids

--

I just checked their schedule. They play GT on Saturday. I guess a loss there could totally knock them out

and people get frustrated by OUR inconsistency

we didnt beat anyone as good as UNC or Duke (you could argue Wake) but we also didnt lose to anyone as bad as Harvard or St. Louis

Yeah, St. Louis lost to 6 teams with a Pomeroy ranking greater than 100

Their best win was BC, #66

Our worst loss was VT, #69. That's mildly admirable.

McCauley, Costner, & Horner would all have double-doubles!

Horner has never had 10 rebounds in a game so how could that happen?

because ASU is a fraud.

Ben and Tracy would go bananas against ASU's pitiful interior defense.

FUCK ASU...and I actually mean it this time

I should have said "triple-doubles"... Or a combined 100 points!

LOL @ Arkansas Little Rock bumping us out on the NITology site. Must have been their big 7 pt home win against 10-20 Louisiana Lafayette that did it.

If we don't lose our next two straight we're making the NIT.

They're tied for first in the Sun Belt. If they finish in first and don't win their conference tourney, they get an automatic bid to the NIT.

6 ACC teams only now? UNC, Duke, Clemson, Wake, FSU, and BC.

Miami, Maryland, Virginia Tech NIT bound unless make a big splash at ACCT.

UVA and GTech go home

Yeah, looks like only 6 for sure at this point. Miami and VT play each other in the first round Thursday, with the winner facing UNC, so one of them will at least have a chance to play themselves back into consideration.

I think it's stupid that St. Mary's is considered in and Penn State isn't. They beat Illinois twice. St. Mary's lost by an absurd amount to Gonzaga in the WCC tournament even with Patty Mills.

But how good is Illinois? The problem with the Big 10 schools is that all of their "good" wins have come in the conference. Illinois has one really good non-conf road win they can hang their hat on, which is at Missouri. Penn State has ZERO. Not to mention a non-conf strength of schedule that is in the 300's. You can make this same argument against Ohio State and Wisconsin, which are supposedly "locks."

I do not trust the RPI, especially when it rates an entire conference highly when very few of those teams have played anybody of merit outside the conference.

But PSU beat MSU in Lansing. That is a quality win. They also beat Purdue. I'd put them in over some of the other Big Ten schools.
