there is no "cousins is on the way" article. there is an article stating that an inside source felt really good about where we were with cousins recruiting wise. no where did it ever say or even insinuate that cousins was definitely coming here.

"Source feels very good on Cousins to NC State" is the title of the article. Obviously "his source" was 100% wrong seeing as Cousins didn't even wait to take an official visit with NC State before announcing he was going to Memphis.

i can say i feel very good about us winning the acc tourney this year. now, that may be a dumb statement but regardless of what happens you cant say im wrong. its about the way i feel.

now this source said he felt good about where we stood with cousins. i dont see how you can say he was "wrong". his feeling was what it was. embarassing? yes. wrong? no

I'm currently doing some transcribing work for Dave Glenn at 850 AM radio. Sent him the article link from WPH's blog entry about Cousins, then of course followed up with him weeks later when I admitted to Lbuying the hype". DG's take was that Cousins is indeed a JJ Hickson calibur player, but he's also very immature. That makes sense considering that he hasn't taken his Sat or ACT. At this point most HS seniors have taken one or both at least once AND already have selected their school (if accepted).

Still a tough loss for the Pack, but this clearly took a lot of people by surprise. I don't see anyone calling this an expected move given the timing and Cousin's public comments, much less those said allegedly in private.

IMO yeah this embarrassing to WPHs, but this the nature of recruiting. Young kids change their mind all the time. Who saw Hickson coming here? Not many. Examples like these are a dime a dozen on an annual basis in bball and football alike.

So yeah... I think it's fair to be critical of WPH, but only to a certain extent.

You know what I think wolfpackhoops.com should do. They should write an article about the outstanding job Lee Fowler has been doing for us the past 9 years and how much he knows about basketball. That would be absolutely great for our University to finally put a positive spin on things during one of the worst decades of our sports program in the history of the University. They can just make shit up like they did when they said they felt excellent about Cousins coming here.
