I had it starting in the 10th grade. Of course, this was in Rocky Mount and not Raleigh.

we had it for seniors

of course, about half the jr class left also

but the admins were pretty strict about it, so they would usually post up by the parking lot exits to make sure only seniors were leaving

I had off campus for my senior year, but during my junior year, I would leave as well

there were only ~100 people per grade, and no one reeeeally cared what the hell we did -hell, about 1/4 the time (if it weren't in season for sports, and I couldn't get in trouble) I wouldn't come back after lunch

I just remembered that I had a friend who got a new Mustang for his 16th birthday on Saturday and totalled it on the way to lunch on Monday. It took nearly two months for his next new Mustang to come in.

Color me intrigued. Please explain said smuggling operation, how you were caught, etc..

My final semester of high school there were three total students in a college level web design class (myself, Shinte and another guy). Class got out about 20-30 minutes before first period at the high school ended, so sometimes we would go to Bojangles and get breakfast, then go crash the class of one of our favorite bitchy teachers.

Seniors were allowed to eat lunch on these covered picnic tables that were outside of the cafeteria...that's about all we got.

Enloe had it for seniors, although with everyone BUT some of the seniors parking off campus in the residential areas, we all went to lunch fairly regularly.

Durham Riverside didn't have it for anybody, and they had everyone park on campus, along with putting up gates and stationing sheriff's deputies all over the place. We still went to lunch there from time to time.

yeah we had it as seniors. they took it away after my class graduated because they expanded the cafeteria and had room for everyone. then, the year after that, they created a strict dress code because too many boobs and bottoms were falling out of minors clothing.

cary had it for juniors and seniors, and across the street almost every direction was a food place, and the mall.

my senior year i was a ta and had that class right after lunch, and i was the ta for my softball coach so sometimes i could take all three or two of the lunch periods and go home or whatever, and then after that class i had pepi and got to leave again!

When I was a freshmen I scanned in my friend's pass and printed out one on the same color paper. I laughed at all the people who would climb into their friends' trunks to get off campus for lunch.

Senior only.

Junior year I had "reason" to leave just about every day to go to the local photo lab to pick up or drop off stuff. The lab was right next to the Subway, which was the only fast food place available except for McD. Always picked food up for other people, left when I felt like it, came back at some point during the 2hrs that 3rd period lasted.

One semester senior year I only had 3 classes so my open period was 3rd, which was during lunch. I always ended up taking two lunches because I'd go with different groups of friends (having 3 lunch periods sucked in that respect) until the nazi vp said I could only leave campus once during the period.

We also successfully smuggled other people out.

2nd semester Soph. year I also had "reason" to leave, but only did it about once a week.

newspaper too.

I could pretty much just walk out of the front doors whenever I wanted to during 3rd period. They didn't care what I did cause they liked me.

The one time I remember going, we snuck our friend out in my trunk.

We didn't have it because there was only one fast food place and a handful of other restaurants in Yanceyville.

I can attest to witnessing at least a portion of this- The Assistant Principal who interrogated Grumpy would've fit well into the SS.

sophmores-seniors had it. freshmen snuck off all the time.

the awesome part was watching the mad dash of students that had B lunch and class at the back of school, far away from the student lot, high tailing it to get out of the lot first so they could get to their lunch destination, order, and eat in the 35 minutes allowed for lunch.

students with A lunch had a much more relaxed lunch b/c it was earlier in the day, but sucked b/c you had two classes afterward. B lunch, despite the chaos, had its perks b/c it was excellent for skipping your last class of the day.

we had subway, pizza inn, bojangles, wendy's, BK, hibachi, andy's, billy's (local greasy burger joint), and captain's corner (convenient store w/ hot dogs, nom nom nom) nearby...those feeling saucy would attempt mcdonald's, hardees, taco bell, or pizza villa which were on the other side of town.
