fuck off OEPII1. first of all, I am well aware of the difficulty involved in moving to another country and reestablishing yourself. My husband and I have fucking done that, not without difficulty, and I am still waiting for my permanent visa for a couple more months, so I am WELL aware of the pain and expense it can be. I had to learn a new language and prove my ability to use it and function in society on top of it. BUT, I am persevering because I know my life will be better for myself, my husband and our future family. Yes, there is quite a bit of bullshit but with a clean criminal record, valuable skills and education (which i assume you have since you are currently employed abroad) it is quite doable. In short, you could change the world for your wife and child but you choose not to based on convenience for yourself, not anyone else.

look here OEPII1, I had enough trouble moving to another privileged, xenophobic, predominately white society to know that it is difficult. I got ordered out of the country for a year (which we were eventually able to circumvent) and my husband had to assume and keep his job so we lived in different countries for several months. But you know what? there are plenty of legal, uneducated fob arabs, asians, africans and carribs (who have an even less privileged skintone than YOU) who are making their lives cleaning things because that's all they can do. Clearly there is a place for accomplished, intellectual people who have something to contribute to society as well in a country you wont have to abandon your belongings and flee if you are, say, threatened with bankruptcy.
