If someone took a dump on the floor of the McDonald's bathroom instead of in the toilet because they felt the toilet was too far away, then yeah, they ought to have to deal with it.I'm saying, nobody is bitching about people that put their carts where they are supposed to go.
3/20/2009 9:10:12 AM
ITS FUCKING SHOPPING CARTS> WHO THE FUCK CARES > PUT THEM WHERE YOU WANT
3/20/2009 9:12:25 AM
maybe I should stack my dishes for the waiter too... everyone that works in the service industry post all your customer requirements here, LOL. Just kidding, go pick up my crap, you slackers.
3/20/2009 9:12:27 AM
I consistently leave my shopping cart out in the lot at the CV Teeter. I will continue to do so as long as I shop there. Get over it.
3/20/2009 9:14:52 AM
It's okay to litter because it's someone's job to pick it up.It's okay to dump chemicals in the water system because it's someone's job to clean it up.It's okay to perform animal sacrifice in the Brickyard because it's someone's job to clear away the blood and guts.

The argument is you don't have to do something because someone gets paid to do it. So I'll just litter rather than taking the 10 steps to the trash can next time. Someone gets paid to pick it up right?I'm glad I don't a) shop where you people shop and b) don't have a car that will get hit by your shopping carts.
3/20/2009 9:22:50 AM
geeze you're angry. I hope your boyfriend slips it in your butthole while you aren't paying attention later.
3/20/2009 9:26:52 AM
^^actually its usually inmates who pick up litter
3/20/2009 9:29:15 AM
^^ lol, if you think that's bad I feel sorry for you ^ I was thinking more around campus [Edited on March 20, 2009 at 9:30 AM. Reason : .]

i leave my shopping carts in the parking lot when theres no convenient place to put them.why? because i don't fucking feel like lugging my ass back to the store with itironic thread title... should be more like ATTN: lazy harris teeter employees.

3/20/2009 9:35:11 AM
3/20/2009 9:36:35 AM
where did you get the idea that "you're supposed to"?
3/20/2009 9:40:30 AM
basically, if he's getting paid to do a mundane task, then you're "supposed to" do it for him
3/20/2009 9:47:44 AM
Which one, carts or food?
3/20/2009 9:47:49 AM
For the people that don't put the carts back...Where did you grow up? I've never been to a town where people just leave their carts any old place and expect the store to corral them up for you. Of course I might just be projecting my upbringing onto every place I've been.I'm accustomed to at least putting them in the designated area. Of course the employees should go after the strays, there are always lazy people, but when the 'strays' become the norm - man I feel for society.
3/20/2009 10:03:14 AM
maybe you should go punch your timecard and get to work rounding up my shopping cart
3/20/2009 10:27:25 AM
LOLZ
3/20/2009 10:28:12 AM
^^^I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw the irony in those examples.
3/20/2009 10:31:57 AM
I, too, enjoy bitching.

I guess it boils down to this: you think it is the customer's responsibility to return carts. I do not.Nothing you can say will convince me to the contrary and nothing I can say will convince you.^ Yes, that's right. I just pop them up onto the little island area. Obviously its not courteous to the other customers to leave them rolling around. I don't care about being courteous to the employees... I'm paying them to run around and collect the carts, after all.[Edited on March 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Reason : s]

I haven't had that happen to me at the CV HT. I agree, if they tell you to leave them out there, then knock yourself out.
3/20/2009 11:20:28 AM
the prices at HT are so high they can afford a cart guy to go around and collect them.
3/20/2009 11:25:54 AM
as a matter of fact, they should ask me if i need help taking my groceries out, and place the bags in my car themselves. then they can take the cart back themselves.
3/20/2009 11:30:47 AM
the prices at harris teeter really aren't that high... also, you can be even nicer by actually taking your cart back inside... i always do this (and grab any stray ones you lazy wankers left that i encounter along the way) and i've had lots of baggers thank me.it doesn't matter if it's your "responsibility" or not - it comes down to the fact that leaving your cart in the parking lot (which in turn possibly hits someone's car or prevents someone from parking in a particular space) is just plain impolite and lazy.if you think you have an argument to the contrary ("this is ammrukah! we don't gotta take our carts back! FREEDOM!") then i agree with khcadwal: that says a lot about your character, in my opinion.]
3/20/2009 11:36:54 AM
^^^umm, most places, except aldi, have a dude that takes carts back. walmart and target even have the powered push cart things to help them.[Edited on March 20, 2009 at 11:37 AM. Reason : ]

Jesus you people are nuts. It's not lazy to leave your cart in the parking lot. That's why they have those corrals, so you don't have to take it back inside. That's why employees collect the carts and bring them back in. Rarely do I see carts in the middle of a parking space.

i haven't been to food lion in a hot minute. there's a harris teeter and a food lion in the same shopping center right by me in gboro so i used to go to food lion and buy sale things (like dry products or lean cuisine) and then to HT to get like meat, and produce, and fresh stuff.
3/20/2009 12:19:29 PM
I meant to say that I had people ask me to take their groceries ou tto their car for them back when I worked at FL. I said that about as poorly as possible.

sure there are exceptions to everything. no i've never left a cart before. i don't litter. and i've only not tipped ONCE in my life and i had the absolute shittiest service of all time.i'm sure there are single moms or elderly people that maybe CAN'T put their carts back. but just observing people in the parking lot (almost everytime i go somewhere that has carts, target, grocery store, etc i see someone leaving a cart somewhere) it just doesn't seem (to me) that there are THAT many exceptions. for the number of carts that are always out in these places i mean. there are always tons of carts in grocery store parkings lots and it is hard for me to believe that every single one of those people was a single mom or an elderly person. so yes it is a generalization. but people in this thread seem to help prove my asshole point by saying "i will leave my cart wherever i please" "it is someone else's job to clean it up"i'm pretty sure MOST (again a generalization) people that have posted stuff about not returning a cart in this thread are well and capable. and i'm willing to go out on a limb and bet that a big portion of the people that don't return carts are repeat offenders. like a single mom with kids might not return a cart once or twice. but it seems like, based on comments here, that there are people who routinely leave their cart in a parking lot.so i get your point, yes it is a generalization. so i will rephrase: habitual cart leaver outers - i do not care for you.better?
