"well its better than putting it in his room, but its still pretty obnoxiously passive agressive"

I came home today and found the aquarium box as well as all the trash from my new gecko set up in my room; what kind of horrible roommate behavior earned me this "lesson to be taught" experience?

- Did i live the box and set up materials scattered around the living room?

No...

- Did I pack all the trash items into the box and have it in a neat pile by the door to which i forgot to take out?

No....

- Did i open the door and lazily throw the box on top/beside the trashcan b.c i didn't feel like taking the time to walk out there?

No...

My over the top clean roommate threw all the shit in my room after I stomped down all the shit (including aquarium box) and stuffed it in the dumpster. The excuse was I did not shread up the box enough and part of the lid was open (the lid is attached to the trashcan BTW).....
WTF..
The next night I would be putting the trash to the curb and the forecast was clear (if rain was part of what his problem with an open trashcan was)

The time he took to drag that shit up to my room he could just have pushed that shit in himself or he could have placed it outside the trashcan and bitched at me to shred it up.

well my roommate #1 is actually pretty good beyond the getting high and eating my snack food and being OCD about cleaning. I'd rather be the messy roommate, though I am pretty clean on an absolute scale compared to other guys, than the one bitching about having a slot like TKE-Teg in my house.

I just came home and tried to talk to him, to no avail. He was watching TV in the other room. I am now in the kitchen making noise and making dinner and then prepping food for a camping trip this weekend. He's now trying to take a nap in the other room with the lights off, instead of going to bed. Incredibly odd.

Oh, and that spaghetti is still on the counter, and now moldy, lol.

i mean he's just laying there in the dark, and the TV is on. And by that, I mean the cable box is off, and its just a blank screen.

Was he dropped on his head as a child?

put stickies on the shit to be cleaned that say:

'please clean me, I am sad and dirty.'

or once you see something sitting there put a note on it that says:

'sitting here since 4/1' or something similar.

Guy hasn't paid rent yet this month, or utility bill for last month and yesterday he asked my roommate for $10 to help pay a speeding ticket.

This should be interesting (and no, none of the bills affect me).

This issue is so easily remedied:

1. With 2 other friends, put on ski masks & kick his door down in the middle of the night and subdue him.

2. Strip off his clothes & tie him facedown to his bed. Now jelly up his weanie and asshole with edge dressing. This will sting like a bitch

3. Take a small aquarium full of precooked spagetti (& some food lion brand spaghetti sauce) & dump it all over his bed & body. Make sure the water is very cold.

4. Knock some shit over in his room & mumble to each other in a strange "Russian-like" language (neeshka kovo doshna nee-yet!)

5. Leave. "Rescue" your roomate after about 10 minutes

I got home from dinner with a friend around 9:30pm Friday night. Both roommates' cars were in the driveway, the front door was unlocked, and the TV was on in the main room. Further investigation revealed that the back door was open (not unlocked, literally open). Was anyone home? OF COURSE NOT. And keep in mind I have a dog, who was at home, and thankfully did not get curious and walk out the door.

I went away for this entire weekend and got home around 12am last night. The front door was unlocked, and every single window on the ground floor of the house was fully open. Was anyone home? NOT A CHANCE.

WTF, should I just buy a sign that says hey robbers come here and post it on the front door?

This is fucking ridiculous.

If you're so worried about something happening to your dog, leave him in your locked bedroom when you're not home. That way, if something does happen to your dog, you can be the one responsible. And you'll know if he breaks into your room.

Then, you can clean the whole house and pile everything that's his outside of his bedroom, like a barricade. Stack the clothes, food, dirty dishes - everything, right in front of the door. Then leave a post-it that says something crazy like "Dishwasher, washing machine, and trash can all occupied".

I've had a lot of roommates, and only a few problems to speak of. And I have found that not talking about it makes it so much harder and worse. That don't appear to be a problem in your case, though.

You can't fuck with these people. You moved into a house with people you didnt know and you brought valuables and a dog. This was a huge mistake. Either move out now or deal with it.

If you want to whine, get a twitter account.

If you want to get REALLY underhanded, then stage a robbery or let a wild animal loose in the house.

Also, it seems we have a cockroach problem. Imagine that.

My roommate #2 is seriously thermostat mentally impaired.

All winter he would shut off the heat b.c its "hot". The reason it gets hot is b.c he shuts off the heat, the temp goes down to 60, and while the thermostat takes a while to heat up the open area where its located the upstairs meanwhile bake out. I closed his vent and supposedly he leaves his window open yet even when its 35 at night its "hot". Maybe if he took the thick ass blanket off his window the cold air would actually get in.

On the other hand now that its warm....
Roommate number 1 and I CONSTANTLY catch him trying to turn the AC down 68. Supposedly he's hot when its fucking freezing in my room even though they are next to each other and both get evening sun. Sure enough I went in his room today to find the thick blanket finally gone, but, the fucking window is open even though its 78 full humidity outside and sun baking into his room.

Why do you need a degree in Thermodynamics to understand that
A. If its warmer outside than inside or the same temperature than simply opening the window does JACK SHIT.
B. Sunlight heats up your room.
C. Even if you want to turn down the hot why the fuck do you not just turn it down a few degrees instead of completely off instead of letting the house turn into a refrigerator.

Sign 'em up for everything. Quixtar, the Army, the Marines, penis enlargement. . .if they want to know if you're interested in receiving more information, sign his ass up. . .more annoyingly, use his cell phone number when you sign him up.

well it appears you didn't take my advice w/ the spaghetti and edge dressing. Try any or all of the following:

1. Take some crushed garlic spread & dab some between his matress, under his rug, in the closet etc.

2. Like someone else said, sign him up for everything & make sure its sent via us mail. Credit card offers, viagra, swedish cooking tips of the day for his inbox etc. Post his number at a bathroom at Legend's or somethin

3. Buy some clear nail polish and coat the terminals of his favorite electronics. After it dries, plug it back into the wall. Nothing

4. Move out and learn your lesson

Roommate #2: "oh boy why could it possibly be so hot upstairs "

sure enough its like 70 degrees outside and his window is open. I do not understand why its so complicated to understand that if you set the AC for 72-73 that opening your window does not magically make your room cooler especially since your window is facing the afternoon sun. Glad I am paying to A/C the outdoors.

I have said something to him even indirectly ("oh i wondered why my room was 80+ monday evening when i got home from work than realized i left my window open all day!") and even closed his window myself; to which i heard him reopen it 5 mins later. I
m being nice now but if he is still doing this shit as the temp starts climbing into the mid to high 80's next month then there is going to be some issues.
