That may well be the case, but the world is full of nationalist people who like their home country and like their national customs. When you're saying you're going to Change (Yes we can!) America's international image, you'd best start learning to respect those customs and either make a good faith attempt when appropriate, or at least stick to your own customs instead of customs that belong to neither party. You would think that the President of the United States of America might be able to afford a book on international customs, if not an entire office dedicated to just that.

Because that's exactly what I said, word for word. Perhaps if you spent a bit more time reading and less time making an ass of yourself, you would have noticed that the point is that someone proclaiming to want to change our image across the world can't walk around with your self important attitude. And when people get upset about violations of cultural norms and customs, no matter how stupid they think such customs might be, they had best pay attention because in the end, they're the ones looking to be liked.
