[hint: stop judging people.] and why is the speed limit so mind numbingly slow? to prevent an increase in traffic fatalities? well fuck it then, let's lower the limit by another 10mph in order to save more precious god-given lives. oh, there's something about millions of dollars being lost in annual revenue from traffic congestion. not to mention countless other variables, such as parents getting home to invest more time providing a stable family structure for the young impressionable children.

i asked the cops if they had a guitar hero sobriety test. i played it drunk all the time, on expert level. this was after they cuffed me, so i thought i'd play stupid [drunk]. and i found out, even though you have the right to remain silent, you also have the right not to remain silent. i chose not to exercise the right to remain silent by asking if i had the right not to remain silent. they laughed. but i was laughing on the inside. see, they thought they were laughing at me. but they were wrong, they were laughing with me. i like the irony in that. it makes me... laugh

that was dumb after reading many many police reports from dwi's i always tell people to be polite and cooperative but dont incriminate yourself, a good cop is taking down everything word you say

what makes you think i wasn't being polite and cooperative? i told the cop straight up i respect his opinion and i'll do whatever he asks. he said i was the most cooperative 'drunk' he's ever handled. maybe my humor was out of place, but that's just my personality. i always try to make people laugh, no matter what the situation. the cop had tears in his eyes when i went off to jail. i told him my situation, which is pretty fucking depressing. i knew he was a good cop, and he was just doing his job. i said that to him. and i knew that he cared, and that helped a lot at the time.

I have talked to many people that have gotten a DUI and they said that they will never drink and drive again. And to be honest, cops are probably absolute dickheads and the whole bullshit that you have to go through is probably enough to convince you to hate alcohol.
But I can tell you that its nowhere near as bad as finding out that your best friend was killed because he got into that car after drinking or he was killed because someone else was drinking and driving.
And this all boils down to one person not being responsible. And a responsible thing for someone to do is to make sure someone dependable is there to make sure that no one gets into the driver seat of a car and drive. That way one person can drink without worrying about what happens to him/herself and this person's friend doesn't have to worry about going to his funeral the next week. It's pretty much a lose-lose situation unless you are lucky.
