Crazy Fire

It was by far the craziest night I'd worked in almost a year. As in, there was actually a wait. "

Maybe I'm being naive, but how hard could it be to waitress at Crazy Fire? They ring out at the front, and go get their own food. All they need to do is be shown their seat and given a drink, right?

^The one in Cary operates differently than the one in Raleigh, so I take it Ambros worked at the Raleigh location or has a sheer hatred for misogynistic corporate dynasties.

"About 2 weeks from now when the semester ends I will be 6 credit hours away from graduating from NC State. The fall will be my last semester. There was a side of me that had always wanted to go back to college though. Getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me. Since then I have taken golf lessons at Wake Tech, tennis lessons at NC State, and racquetball lessons at NC State. I have no clue where my future is taking me and what type of job I will get after college, but the ride has been enjoyable and worth it. If I had to do it all over again the one thing I would do different is start working towards a 4 year degree right after high school instead of waiting till my high school class graduated from college. Going back late kind of effects people socially. I met a lot of people right away below the age of 21 who couldn't hang out at the bar with me because they were under aged and I was over 21 and ready to party.

"

It does really suck socially to go back to school when you're like 4 to 5 years older than most people in your classes.

My first job when I was 16 was at Subway. After 3 weeks, she just told me that "it wasn't working out" and told me to find another job. She even said she'd give me a good reference if I put her down on another application. I have no idea why she let me go, but yes - I guess that's me getting "fired".

I have never personally seen him throw anything at anyone. His harrassment is verbal. I have seen him, on a number of occasions, scream at a girl in the multi media room and break her down until she starts crying. His kids weren't too bad. Stacey (his wife, their mom) is very conservative and keeps a pretty close eye on them. lol I think it has to do with everyone in there trying to give them beer.

Nope, I've never been fired. I've never even really quit a job without having to (ie moving). On the other hand, I have fired quite a few people and yeah, I've used the "it's just not working out here for you" line. That's a nice way of saying that you suck really bad at something that should be incredibly simple.

There was the job I saw the "quit or be fired" situation developing:

Business hours were 7-4, and I worked 11-430 (cleanup)

The boss was being pretty unreasonable. Towards the end, he literally expected me to be in two places at once (run both registers at far ends of the counter, do not let ANY customer stand there without being helped, and no, you may not yell "Just a minute ma'am!", and begin shutting down the bakery for the day). This started making me late getting out of work.

So when the new semester started, and I had class thursday evenings, I went to him and said 'hey, look...I've got class. I absolutely need to be out of here on time on this day- I've scheduled this class around my scheduled work hours. I don't mind leaving late any other day'.

He decided that day that thursdays were when I needed to scrub the floor by hand

I gave my two weeks' notice, and he got even more passive-aggressive, so I left that day.

twice
one straight up firing that was uncalled for and i made an ass out of myself
and one that was a quit/firing situation where i told the owner of the company that everyday when i pulled into my parking space i felt like vomiting knowing i was putting more money in her pocket and that the company had gone down hill since her husband left to be Mr. Mom and how she had 0 business sense.

it felt good

Nice.

I'm sure you tried this, but the situation might have been one that could have been played into a huge promotion for you

Jaybee1200 had a funny story where he got fired from Taco Bell for stuffing ground beef in his pockets and sneaking off to eat it in the bathroom

Not sure of all the details tho, I'll let him tell it if he checks this thread out
