My dad had one of his boxers pass away a month or two ago. He called the county dump and they said he could dispose of him there for free.

when the family dog died in 2006, my parents had her cremated (paid extra for it to be individual so we could get her ashes back) and buried her ashes under her favorite shady spot in the backyard

the last dog that my parent had to have put down was a 16 year old Jack Russel named Scooter. She had cancer (probably ovarian or uterine) and could not eat solid food for a couple of months. They had the vet come to the house and euthanized her with my dad holding her. She is buried on my dad's farm next to the Doberman-Lab cross and a 8 week old kitten that didn't make it.

this is the urn that Fumbler made for our first dog that we had growing up that died. she was cremated by somebody that our vet sent her off to. some local guy (rocky mount). her ashes came back in a clear plastic bag. for our 2nd dog that died of cancer after a huge surgery/ordeal at the vet school, her ashes came back in a small white container that was sealed. she was cremated by a place in raleigh. we just put it in another box w/ her pic on the outside with a couple of her toys, her papers, and her collar inside.
