I'm good with that, as long as the person under the influence voluntarily reached that state.

This is really terrible. Did anyone notice this?

They have been together since he was 15?

Meh, I've got friends who met in middle school who are now very happily married. Good catch though.

"Murder charges in wreck; N.C. groom, two others killed

WHITEVILLE, N.C. — A grand jury has indicted a North Carolina man on three counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of a groom and two others in a wreck less than an hour before the wedding.

The Fayetteville Observer reports John Kelley, 43, of Whiteville, was initially charged with driving while impaired in the wreck April 18 on state Highway 214.

Troopers say Kelley's Chrysler Sebring convertible drifted into the opposite lane of the two-lane highway, striking a Honda Prelude head-on.

Killed in the wreck were the groom, Brandon Tedder, 23; best man Brandon Mintz, 19; and groomsman and Tedder's brother, Daniel Sykes, 13.

The paper says Kelley's wife refused to talk about the indictments."

I'm sure there's a perfectly valid reason why God used a drunk driver to kill three people on the way to a wedding.

my steering column sucks, and I weave a little, so plz dont call the cops on me

No one deserves a chance to learn from their mistakes when it comes to drunk driving. The folks that this person killed are not getting a second chance.

I dont understand how people can sympathize with drunk drivers unless they have been/are one themselves.

mine got dismissed, neener neener

^^ And I don't see how people can sympathize with blacks. They all become criminals eventually, so we should just lock them up at birth without any evidence of a transgression.

i think drunk driving is horrible, don't get me wrong. but i think that the idea of having a breathalizer in all cars is horrible as well. but there's another thread about that.

agree w/ this

http://www.cellular-news.com/story/18083.php

Drivers drunk at the 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level drove a bit more slowly than both undistracted drivers and drivers using cell phones, yet more aggressively. They followed the pace car more closely, were twice as likely to brake only four seconds before a collision would have occurred, and hit their brakes with 23 percent more force. "Neither accident rates, nor reaction times to vehicles braking in front of the participant, nor recovery of lost speed following braking differed significantly" from undistracted drivers, the researchers write.

"Impairments associated with using a cell phone while driving can be as profound as those associated with driving while drunk," they conclude.

How about a zero tolerance mandatory 1-year minimum license suspension for talking on a cell phone while driving? Hey Solinari how about sitting outside soccer practice and calling the police on soccer moms driving erratically while chatting on their cell phone?

Oh, does the level of impairment seem more managable now? Perhaps .08 is arbitrarily low.

I guess a thread about a drunk driver claiming a life isn't the best place to go on about this, but Solinari's self-righteous faggotry on the first page kind of pissed me off. I don't think many people would have a problem with DWI laws if the BAC recognized as intoxicated was .16 (like it was pretty much nationally before this recent MADD insanity), or if it were only an aggravating factor in the event of an actual at-fault accident (arrests for being more likely to be involved in an accident are sort of like arrests for being black since you're more likely to be involved in a crime, as I alluded to earlier).
