i find that in situation like that it is better to be the bigger person and just ignore them. especially when they aren't saying something mean at that point.

I don't think it is any secret she had a very strong dislike for you. so anything you say is going to probably generate a reaction. It was not a dumb statement. a bigger person knows when to keep their mouth shut.
