the DMV clearly states that no one will be required to get more than one inspection in a 12 month period, but the calculator says i would have toi'm gonna scrape the sticker and no cop will know the difference. my sticker went out this past february and my registration is good until december. it says on the registration card my inspection is due in december. fuck that calculator.
5/4/2009 10:45:25 AM
^^^^ why dont you point out to me where he said it wasnt expired, and im not the only one who asked dumbass[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 10:47 AM. Reason : gaz]

5/4/2009 10:49:21 AM
^^^^,^^ so where does that say its not expired, your registration card will say that wether your inspection is expired or notfor instance my inspection is expired, i got a new registration card and it too says inspection due jan 2010but my inspection is still expired, and i can still get a ticket and a fine from dmv.the card doesnt mean anything except when its suppose to be done^^^ cause i wasnt sure you asked it the same way exactly[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 10:52 AM. with the new laws in place about inspection being due with your registration, he was questioning whether or not he needed the inspection, which is the debate that ensued after i asked the initial question.
5/4/2009 10:52:06 AM
^ yes, thank you someone with some sense.i too wasnt sure if or how i could get a ticket for inspection now that there is not sticker. but have been informed that you can indeed get a $400 fine from dmv if its not current, and revoked tags[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 10:54 AM. Reason : adsfs]

i figured that calculator outback when they first started all this shit, i put in Dec 2008 as when my registration was due and Feb 2009 as when my inspection was due. it said ignore the sticker and get it inspected in Dec 2009.now, i put in Dec 2009 for my registration and Feb 2009 for my inspection (because i got my new registration in Dec) and it says i should have got it inspected in FebWHICH IS IT MOTHERFUCKERS?
5/4/2009 10:54:39 AM
I thought it was pretty clear that his inspection isn't expired. Due 4/30/2010 = already done for 2009
5/4/2009 10:55:09 AM
but what she's saying is the date on the card doesn't matter, which i wouldn't put past NCDMV[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 10:56 AM. Reason : just look at my experience with the calculator]
5/4/2009 10:55:46 AM
ya'll have succeeded in confusing me with regards to this whole inspection/registration bullshitit's a good thing i just bought a new car moral of the story: spend the fucking $40 and get your car fucking inspected and avoid the bullshit of cops and DMV trying to dick you over for money you probably don't owe.[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 10:56 AM. COULD SOMEONE SPELL OUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN THIS THREAD???IS HIS INSPECTION EXPIRED????HOW DO YOU GET A LICENSE?????WHERE DO BABIES COME FROM????
5/4/2009 10:56:56 AM
actually until now that hasn't been the case. for the last umpteen years my car was due for inspection (sticker on windshield) in april. my registration (license plate) has been due in september.
5/4/2009 10:57:36 AM
Yeah, and the program of syncing up inspections and registrations was addressed, and partially explained, in this thread. For str8, his have already been synced.
5/4/2009 10:58:22 AM
THEN WHO WAS PHONE AND WHEN DOES HE EXPIRE???
5/4/2009 10:59:03 AM
so what do i do? their calculator told me one thing last year and now it tells me something different. i think i'm putting the right dates in.i think the moral of the story is the ncdmv really did a poor job of syncing all this up and informing the public

5/4/2009 11:02:14 AM
that's probably what they want everyone to do. bend over and take it without question just to cover their ass whether that's what they have to do or not.
5/4/2009 11:03:05 AM
5/4/2009 11:03:27 AM
i'm gonna scrape the sticker and they'll probably never say a word to me
5/4/2009 11:03:56 AM
yeah, i guess i better go get my car inspected every month just in case, right?
5/4/2009 11:04:06 AM
5/4/2009 11:04:33 AM
that's what thumper would do, you know, just to make sure you're covered
5/4/2009 11:04:37 AM
no, you fucking dolt. get it inspected if your sticker is expired. then be done with it. if you do that, you'll have a reciept from them that clearly shows your car was inspected within the last 12mos, regardless of what DMV records state. then you have a case when the stupid cop says that DMV has you as expried.
5/4/2009 11:05:51 AM

5/4/2009 11:06:55 AM
lol. i lost my receipt, i need a new inspection!!1
and you would end up getting in inspected twice in a 12 month period, which they clearly state you will not be required to do
5/4/2009 11:07:11 AM
fine, ignore it. just make sure you make a thread when you get pulled over for an expired inspection.
5/4/2009 11:08:32 AM
i'd rather make that thread than make one about how i'm a spineless dipshit who bent over and took it from my state government because i'm too fucking stupid to figure out their convoluted rules
5/4/2009 11:09:57 AM
if your sticker expires this month, or expired last month, but your registration isn't up for several more months - then you are driving with an expired inspection, because you have gone more than 12 months without an inspection. so if you get it inspected, your inspection will then be good for a year beyond when your registration is due.i gave this example on page 1, but i'll give it again.my inspection sticker says April 2009.my registration (on my plates) says September 2009.i get my car inspected today.my inspection sticker is removed. my inspection is now (supposed to be) linked to my registration.my registration is up for renewal in September 2009, and with that renewal i will be good through September 2010. i will renew my plates, but i will not get the car inspected again, because it's already been inspected once in the past 12 months.if you think you can go until September 2009 before you get an inspection then you fucking deserve the fucking ticket because you obviously don't understand simple math.i think people don't realize that renewing a registration is totally different from getting the car inspected. they will be synced up from now on, yes - but that just means you will pay your registration when you get the car inspected (which you are also paying for). it doesn't mean you're paying to register your car and BOOM your car is now inspected. they are still two separate costs, they are just going to be synced up and due at the same time.[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 11:15 AM. i just got off the phone with a very nice and knowledgable lady at the license plate agency in goldsboroshe said that in my case i was covered and that if they're writing tickets (even though they shouldn't be) to pull the sticker off. she even said, and i quote, "well, it should even say the date you're due on your registration card"
5/4/2009 11:22:33 AM
5/4/2009 11:24:15 AM
she called me "shoog" and everything
5/4/2009 11:24:42 AM
just think about it this way. how long has it been since you've had an inspection? if the answer is >1 year, and your registration has not occurred for the current year then you need to have it inspected.also whats is the best way to remove a sticker. they left mine on there even though at this point I don't need a new one until Feb 2010. I tried to pull it off but it was quite stuck to the windshield. [Edited on May 4, 2009 at 11:25 AM. Reason : sticker]
