everyone knows that season 4, with the school-centric episodes, was the best. 7/22/2009 11:03:49 AM |

This show is the best.
Alan Sepinwall has a great veteran's version analysis of each ep. I think he is on season 2 right now. This guy's knowledge of The Wire runs deep.
Also best intro scene to The Wire has to be McNulty trying to make a turn drunkenly and he misses it 3 times then it cuts to him in a diner and him eventually fucking the waitress. 7/22/2009 12:15:17 PM |

Oh yeah I was confused. The newspaper parts sucked as did the dork teacher parts. Season 5 had its moments I seem to remember but still like seasons 1-3 the best. I mean after a few seasons its like hey we get it you're gonna catchs these g's by ge tting a wire 7/22/2009 4:24:22 PM |

after a few seasons?
did you mean after the first time you heard the name of the show? There were what, 3 major wire cases in the entire series?
Deadwood still has better acting and writing than Wire but I am still a huge fan of this. I am just glad it got to go beyond more than a couple season unlike a lot of HBO's hits.

I was about to say get out of here with that shit, but I will acknowledge that the main cast of deadwood was better than the main cast of deadwood. However, all the corner kids and dealers totally make up for that.
Oh yeah, let me add that that just refers to acting. Regarding writing, get that shit out of here. It is well-acknowledge that deadwood had its strings of episodes that were really slooooow.

well acknowledged by who?
That also implies that Wire has had no slow epidsodes, which is a load of shit.
Also, pulling people from the streets to act like themselves is not acting, thats just remembering lines and saying them back.
Thats not to say though that I dont think some of the people on the wire are really damn good actors, but if you compare the source of material between the two shows, Deadwood is far more impressive. 7/23/2009 8:57:19 AM |

what about in Deadwood where acting is who can say the most curse words?
one thing is for sure though: both shows are better than that garbage of a show Entourage]7/23/2009 11:05:31 AM |

In terms of command of language, Deadwood's writing is better.
But with factoring in emotional impact and resonance, I say The Wire easily trumps any other television show ever produced, or at least that I've seen. 7/23/2009 11:25:50 AM |

^^ I can agree with that. probably because relating to events and characters in the wire is easier than in a show like deadwood 7/23/2009 11:51:42 AM |

Didn't Cheese do something like that? He was pissed that his dog lost and shot him? Not sure about the dog being strung up - he had been drugged by the other dog's owner or something, then the wire was on Cheese for "shooting his dog" haha. Either way - definitely not worth missing a very good series over.7/23/2009 6:31:35 PM |

the owners of the other dog cheated, and cheese's dog was pretty much mortally wounded, so cheese euthanized it with a bullet. 7/23/2009 9:08:42 PM |
