Bring out yer dead. [a man puts a body on the cart] Here's one. That'll be ninepence. I'm not dead. What? Nothing. There's your ninepence. I'm not dead. 'Ere, he says he's not dead. Yes he is. I'm not. He isn't. Well, he will be soon, he's very ill. I'm getting better. No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment. Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations. I don't want to go on the cart. Oh, don't be such a baby. I can't take him. I feel fine. Oh, do me a favor. I can't. Well, can you hang around for a couple of minutes? He won't be long. I promised I'd be at the Robinsons'. They've lost nine today. Well, when's your next round? Thursday. I think I'll go for a walk. You're not fooling anyone, you know. Isn't there anything you could do? I feel happy. I feel happy. [the Dead Collector glances up and down the street furtively, then silences the Body with his a whack of his club] Ah, thank you very much. Not at all. See you on Thursday. Right.

did the driver of the car merge into the motorcycle rider?
5/13/2009 10:00:52 AM
the WRAL article last night said the driver of the car over-corrected and swerved into the motorcycle. as in, motorcyle rider was doing nothing wrong.tragic [Edited on May 13, 2009 at 10:03 AM. Reason : .]

UPDATEhttp://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/5148013/
5/15/2009 2:49:56 PM
i hate dumbasses who don't check their blind spots before changing lanes.
5/15/2009 3:09:58 PM
I was stuck in this mess for 45 minutes driving my pops to the airport.I checked my fire pager after seeing the traffic and sure enough, Motorcycle Accident w/ Injuries. After seeing about 7 troopers roll by in the shoulder on my left I gave up and took Harrison Ave. Good thing I did. Also, if you're driving along and see something like this, don't rubberneck. The EB lanes were blocked for a long time, and there was *nothing* to see."Oooooh, cops with spraycans, very exciting! Let me slow down and drive by at 3mph on a highway."The 4 WB lanes were closed down to 1 on the right side of the road (furthest from the median). Traffic on the EB lanes were also at a standstill but there were no lane closures...I hate rubberneckers.
5/15/2009 3:29:03 PM
^i'm sorry sir, you are mistaken. all lanes were shut down on the westbound side, and all lanes except for the far right lane were shut down on the eastbound side.from one of the articles linked farther up:

Dunno what to tell you. My father had a 4:45 flight.I was on 40WB near exit 287-Harrison Ave for 30 minutes before I gave up. When I took the exit/overpass (again stuck), I could clearly that they had one lane of traffic open on the WB side (the side where the accident was, they had closed the 3 lanes closest to the median) and that there were no closures on the EB side, but that it was backed up West of the accident (towards the airport) for several miles. So I can tell you that they had the EB lanes open at around 4p, but that they were not moving because of stupid rubberneckers. I can also tell you that there was one WB lane open at around 4p.WRAL has been wrong before, and I was there, stuck in the midst of it.
