Holy shit I loved this game. First game I ever played on a home computer. SimCity was a religion. I played that game for entire days at a time. Lots of other games already mentioned.

Also,

Seawolf

Well we played Cowboys and Indians, but to make it PC we had to start calling it "Independent Cattle Ranchers and Indigenous Peoples" and the Independent Cattle Ranchers could no longer run around shooting the Indigenous Peoples, giving them smallpox blankets and raping their women. We had to start respecting each other and start working toward a positive future through collaboration and communication.

Yeah the game sucked after that.

Ah crap, you bastards. I can't remember all of them, but a lot of posts in this thread were on the money. I'll post as many as I can remember right now.

Descent I and II

Doom I and II

Lemmings

Wolfenstein 3-D including Spear of Destiny (Which also had some other versions of wolfenstein 3d that came with it, lots of fun, and we used editors to create our own custom levels)

Ghostbusters (C64)

Indiana Jones on the Commodore 64 (not sure which iteration)

Alien on the Commodore 64 (may have been Aliens, but whatever, it was awesome and I sucked at it). SOUNDS LIKE A BUG HUNT.

Many other C64 games which I cannot recall right now.

Commander Keen series

Hugo's (something or other) House of Horrors

USE BONG

One of the "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" games, this one was on CD, which was way amazing at the time. WARREN THE WARRANT ROBOT.

X-wing (on 3.5" floppies!)

TIE Fighter CD-ROM and X-wing on collector's edition CD-Rom AND B-wing, which was like x-wing only it focused on a series of later-introduced fighters that the rebels used

Secret of Monkey Island:

Just about all the various text based Zork games, and we played Return to Zork without ever actually beating it.

Barney Blaster

I think we got that one off of a BBS, we used a bunch of local ones back in the day.

Starsiege: Tribes since the week it launched (I even have a gay little T-shirt with a big cheesy graphic on it that says "NO MAN IS AN ISLAND" on the back or something. It was free w/ the game, don't think I'm enough of a nerd to go specifically want to buy such a thing)

The incredible machine:

We played it when dad eventually got bored of it and realized he didn't have time for such an idle man's luxury.

Montezuma's Revenge (aka Monty)... Somehow I've seen this graphic before so we had it on the C64.

Chopper Commando:

Trinity, which was another one my dad played for a while then eventually gave to us

Sim City, Sim City 2000

(Not the mac version though, but nothing was really different besides that gay little logo in the top left.)

X-Com: UFO Defense

Fucking hard game that would scare me at night. Yeah I was a puss as a kid.

Jazz the Jackrabbit I (Though we may have only had the shareware copy)

Wing Commander III

Scorched Earth (Including versions before they had all the nice graphics)

Command and Conquer Red Alert I

One Must Fall, which we got by the time it was one of those shitty $2 games you find in the bargain bin at Babbages

Loom. BOBBIN THREADBARE! LOOOOOOOOOOOM WEAAAAVEEEEER!

Megarace 2, the demo (until recently when I managed to snag a copy of it)

Destruction Derby (Amazing electronic/techno soundtrack, and super fun gameplay to boot)

Rogue Squadron 3D, which I think I got with my first 3d video card. A Diamond Monster Fusion, which was a voodoo banshee with 16mb of memory (It was so fucking awesome at the time, it was wonderful)

Screamer. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!

Duke Nukem and the related 2D versions.

Duke Nukem 3-D. You wanna dance?

Star Wars: Dark Forces

Total Annihilation & All of its expansion packs. This tends to pop up every christmas season when I get bored and want to play a good classic game.

Rise of the Triad

F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter 2.0 on 5.25" floppies

Homeworld:

Tropico:

Jill of the Jungle!!!! (HOLY CRAP that somebody remembered this, cause I didn't til I just saw it all over again, lol).

Terminal Velocity

Apache (PC)

Quake (including an alpha/beta version of it which we snagged back in the day).

PART TWO OF MEIN EPIC POST:

Team Fortress 1 (As in for Quake, not Half Life)

GTA 2

Sub Culture (AMAZING game)

Seawolf on CD-Rom

I sucked at it though, some sim games I just can't get that deeply into.

Outpost 2: Divided Destiny

This game really drew me in for a while. It had a good story, excellent gameplay, and it was hard as hell which meant you would play it over and over and over again until you beat the son of a bitch.

And for this next one: HOW DID YOU ALL FORGET THIS ONE?
fucking CARMAGEDDON!

This game turned me on to fear factory, and now I lots of their music. Who knew I like metal industrial until carmageddon came out? We also got this the year we got a pentium 200 server/enterprise-grade workstation which was fast as hell.

Carmageddon 2

Test Drive 4, which was kinda meh but pretty fun. Needed more cars.

Test Drive 5, which had like THE BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER in a game I've played.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena

Stop thief!

Damn, what else am I missing...

Deus Ex

Interstate '76

Operation Body Count

Driver (PC)

SWOTL (Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe)

QIX

Lunar Lander (and various clones)

COMMANDO (C64)

Best music from any game ever. Ever, goddamn you.

Lego Island

Lego Creator, when you could get it to run (and even then only at 0.5 FPS).

Space Goose

Zaxxon (Maybe on C64?)

Army Men (and 2 and 3 and whatever it was up until Sarge's War came out)

Arctic Fox

Indy Car Racing

The Ancient Art of War (DOS)

Hard as hell and I sucked at it.

Blake Stone

Ken's Labyrinth (lol)

Um... Probably a whole lot of other games that I cannot remember right now. I played a fuck ton of games over the years.

Oh, almost forgot:

Black & White

I'll 2nd King's Quest. Those games were, and still are, completely badass. I remember playing the MSDOS games like Nibbles, the one with the monkeys and you threw bananas or something at each other. Eventually we got internet and I discovered MUDs.

Played the shit out of some Sim City, C&C, Starcraft, Police Quest. You know, it really depends on when I stopped being a kid, because all the gaming eras sort of blend together now.

Quote :

Definitely played that a bit...actually got that the same Christmas as Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.

Warbirds...WWII fighter plane game. Fun as shit. Sometimes I miss the days of joysticks

There were two other games I played the shit out of. One was a futuristic piloting game where you fought aliens (you were human), and I think your home base/mothership was called the Omaha or something similar. You had to go around destroying certain targets, some of the levels took place where you had to fly into a tunnel and destroy shit down there. You also couldn't fly 360, like if you missed something you were shit out of luck unless the map turned around.

The other was really crappy graphics even for then, but it was a futuristic RTS mixed with a vehicle piloting game. You could control your units to fight and then go first person into a vehicle (tanks, trucks, planes) to fight on your own terms. Fun as hell.
