The head coach game sucked. Coach mode back in the day for NCAA and gamebreaker wasn't bad, the qb and rb would make some bad plays but real players made bad plays, and it was tied into their awareness and other attributes

The rosters are laughable.

Wilson is an 88 or something, Glennon is an 81.

Other ACC teams all have an 88 or higher Qb...UNC's Yates is an 89 for example.

It's horrid. Irving is way too low....Alan Michael Cash is even lower...etc.

Not to mention the lack of freshmen and the players that aren't even on our team anymore.

So lemme get this straight....for years I mostly bought this game for the updated rosters and better gameplay, and now there's a chance that this year's game will have neither?

I'm not too worried about the rosters because there's always some roster guru who has good roster up for DL within a week of the game's release

With all the freshman, updated ratings, depth charts, etc

So we'll be set whenever we start the league

But Wilson at 88 isn't that bad...I mean he was really good last year, but you can't expect him to be mid 90's...we were 6-6 after all

It just makes it a pain for the roster gurus to get out a decent roster. I've never really cared what the default roster was like because someone will make a better one and I'd just download it and I don't really play online much outside of the online dynasty. It is a pretty big fuck up though. I'm sure if we borked our one designated job, we'd be on the streets looking for another one.

if you play enough and get the sticks down it eventually equals out.

It was just too easy in 09, I was beating all the cheasers online by rushing for 300 yards a game and running the clock out before they realized that a contain in a dime was not going to work. Then once I was ahead, I blitzed the fuck out of them until they threw a few interceptions and just quit.

Wilson being an 88 isn't bad by itself.. this is what makes it bad:

Yeah he should be higher than Yates

IMO, Tebow, McCoy and Bradford should be the top tier in the mid to upper 90's

Then Zach Robinson, Snead Lefervor and the like around the 91-92 range

Then Wilson, Pryor, Groethe, Max Hall and Robert Griffin in the upper 80's

The thing about the rosters is that online play uses the disc rosters. Sure for dynasties, you can just download a roster....but for any online games, it'll use the default.

Also, for the starting polls, they are based on current rosters, etc.

Here's a sample of the fuck-ups:

Nate Irving is a 77. for comparison, UNC's OLB are rated 89, 80, 85, 78, 81.

Russel Wilson is ranked 88, with a 65 elusiveness. For comparison, Clemson's soph. Willy Korn is a 87, Duke's Thaddeus Lewis is an 85, North Carolina's Mike Paulus is an 83, Yates is an 88, VT's Tyrod Taylor is a 91. Ecu's Pinkey had an 83 elusiveness.
Mike Glennon is ranked a lowly 83. Harrison Beck is ranked an 84. Some other QB's on our squad that I don't know.

Our top players:

Andy Barbee (C) - 89
Will Young (DE) - 89
Donald Bowens (WR) - 88
Wilson (QB) - 88
Eugene (RB) - 88
T.J. Graham (WR, a white guy, no less) - 87

Hopefully the roster guru's can fix this but that could easily take a month or so. EVERY team has their roster fucked up like State's is. Hardly any freshman are in the game and tons of ppl that just graduated that are still in there. one of my charge and play cords doesnt work and a few of the battery packs wont hold charges anymore...i'll probably pass on the league this time though, might jump in for the 2nd season when someone(s) inevitably quits and you need someone to take over a team...too busy nowadays

So are the next gen NCAA football games finally equal (feature wise) to the last release of NCAA for the previous gen? Or are they going to go the route of purposely leaving off features they used to offer and then charge you to 'unlock' them?

I remember the first NCAA title for the X-Box 360 lacking many, many features that were present in the contemporary NCAA title to come out for the X-Box... '07?

Just asking, because if I ever get a 360 it will be because I need that NCAA Football fix.

Oh, and what's the best (currently out) version of NCAA Football for the 360? I've heard '08. Not sure why people didn't like '09, something about lack of defense in '09 - which I thought was a problem with all versions.

I personally enjoyed NCAA Football 06 for my PS2 the most. FTR I have 02, 04, and 08 as well.

hah yeah. The new ones are all flash. I played the hell out of 05 on gamecube but 07,08, and 09 I only played for a few months and then got bored. The online dynasty really helped 09 but there's still no team entrances or pregame show(there was one a while back where corso actually did the mascot head thing), no 1-AA teams (although if you're really bored you could make them with team builder). The NCAA series is slowly getting their but it seems that EA would rather implement gimmicks rather than things everyone is asking for.

Sad to hear. I think the last one I bought was '06 for the x-box. I wanted to pick up a 360 the day they got really, really cheap (and offered better backward compatibility). Then I could get a decent NCAA Football title for under $10 and be happy.

Sounds like I'll just continue to sit this gen out

They posted a video on operationsports with the pass block sliders set to 0. The defense couldn't get pressure on the QB any better really....

They also don't necessarily have the final copy of the game though. But it does seem like EA just avoids the basics.

It was broken last year and they never fixed it....I don't hold much hope that they are going to fix it between the OS version and release....
