Like I said before, some people will spend the money while others won't. But the "a kid can happen by mistake" argument is retarded.

It's more of an issue of what that particular animal means to you. I know plenty of pets that I wouldn't allow to bleed money out of me. I know others I'd nearly go to the poor house for.

If you're the type of person who doesn't become so attached to animals that you'd spend that kind of money, that's fine. Whatever. But to say someone is wrong for making a personal (costly) decision about something they care dearly for is ig'nant.
