I'm in CO, but any time they have it here, the lake demographics change dramatically I just get pissed because everyone brings out there kids and their neighbor's kids.Like they don't get that kids can fish free 365 days a year.
6/24/2009 4:09:35 PM
in NC, they can't unless the parent has a fishing license
6/24/2009 4:38:52 PM
they still sell lifetime sportsmans licenses?i should get one for my nephews
6/24/2009 4:44:48 PM
gotcha, here you can fish anytime if you are under 16 but the limit is half, unless you buy a license.Another benefit of having a kid, my walleye daily limit went from 2 to 3 for the next 15 years
6/24/2009 4:45:26 PM
yes, you should[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 4:46 PM. Reason : half limits? wow. i know a lot of guys who take their kid fishing just to get a second limit]
6/24/2009 4:45:43 PM
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a day. Then he'll get a $165 ticket and wish he had just gone to the fish market.* * Unless it's July 4, 2009[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 4:49 PM. Reason : l]
6/24/2009 4:48:46 PM
it's always cheaper to just go to the fish market
6/24/2009 7:47:04 PM
give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day...teach a man to fish, and you ruined a perfectly good business opportunity-karl marx
6/24/2009 7:52:40 PM
how much fuckin trash and general habitat degredation will there be with these opportunists casting lines unchecked?i cant say i agree with this, the principle yes but not a whole damn day for fuckbags to leave the trees covered in fishing line
6/24/2009 10:13:43 PM
what's keeping them from buying a fishing license and doing that anyway? it's not like there's a test you have to pass to get a license.i don't think y'all really understand this. hardly anyone knows about this shit. maybe a couple hundred people take advantage of it statewide, i bet.sounds like you're just trolling anyway
6/24/2009 10:17:32 PM
the fact that you have to go and do something in order to procurei can imagine seeing dead carp and gar on the shores, not to mention bait fishes because assholes dont respect lifewhy the fuck am i trolling? youre full of shit im sick of being accused of trollingyou fish on a fuckin boat man you dont see the shit i see[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 10:23 PM. 6/24/2009 10:21:25 PM
plenty of folks just go fishing w/o a license anywayi fish off the bank too. i see plenty of trash on the boat and on the bank. go clean it up if you're so butthurt over it. i agree it sucks. i don't leave a mess.[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 10:24 PM. Reason : .]
6/24/2009 10:23:39 PM
o trust me i know, they leave fish and beer bottles all over the placei dont feel like a person that actually seeks a recreational license, no mater how minimal the cost, would have so little respect.im sure there are a few, but i cant fathom it
6/24/2009 10:26:13 PM
i can. i've seen it.
6/24/2009 10:27:01 PM
anyway all you non licensed guys that take advantage of this go get licensed afterwards!
6/24/2009 10:28:27 PM

Every year, on July 4th, every lake in NC is the biggest clusterfuck it has ever been.I thought $4.00 gas would keep that from happening last year, but neigh a new record was set.And I assure you that this year will set a new record for clusterfucking of the lakes again despite the economic woes.If they're going to give away a day where people will trash the lakes I'd say 07/04 is probably the best one to give away. That way we can just get it all over with in one fell swoop and move on.

6/25/2009 11:15:00 AM
i can't find the prices that you posted for youth license costs.my son is 3 and i want to get a license for him, but i can't seem to find where to buy it online.i should have purchased when he was born.
6/25/2009 11:58:22 AM
the discounted before-a-certain-age licenses require more documentation (to prove the child's age), so they have a separate process for itlemme see what i can find
6/25/2009 11:59:43 AM
I'm hopefully gonna get all my fishing out of my system this weekend (wanna do some shore fishing on Saturday, and supposed to go scanoeing down the neuse on Sunday morning)... I just don't feel like dealing with everyone out there next weekend
6/25/2009 12:00:54 PM
fill out this formhttp://www.ncwildlife.org/pg01_License/documents/LifetimeLicenseApp.pdf[Edited on June 25, 2009 at 12:06 PM. Reason : note that your son will be the "applicant" and you will be the "donor"]
6/25/2009 12:02:33 PM
i wish i had gotten one of those when i was a kid
6/25/2009 12:02:59 PM
I think my dad said it was $60 dollar bucks or so when I was born, but he didn't get it because he didn't know if I'd hang around NC after I was old enough to need it.
6/25/2009 12:23:27 PM
lifetime sportsmans were $100 before the kid's 1st bday when i was born[Edited on June 25, 2009 at 12:30 PM. Reason : daddy kicked himself over that. cost him $500 when i was 16 ]

it will be worth every pennyalso, gg on teaching your kids to fish and stuff. teach them how to respect the places and keep them clean too.
6/25/2009 12:42:16 PM
^and then paint their faces with little peace signs and go protest a boyscout troop for not allowing that gay scout master who would watch them swim and wring his hands till they were red j/kalso
6/25/2009 1:21:34 PM
^lake raleigh not good for you?
6/25/2009 1:24:02 PM
if im going to drive to raleigh, i might as well just drive to SC and do some river fishing.I was countering the comment that there was no shortage of fishing spots. Well of course not, if you're willing to drive to this one spot in the center of the state
6/25/2009 1:26:07 PM
sorry, man. how am i supposed to know what's in a 40 mile radius of you? i just assumed you were in raleigh.chill out[Edited on June 25, 2009 at 1:27 PM. Reason : i agree that their statement is false. we definitely have a shortage of public fishing spots.]

6/25/2009 1:29:46 PM
I CAUGHT THIS FISH THE OTHER DAY SON.
6/25/2009 1:34:12 PM
you know, you hear people talk about how nice all the people they meet fishing are and shitthat's total bullshitbetween the few folks on here who say they like to fish and the tards over at ncwaterman.com, i'd have to say that 3/4 of all fisherman are one or more of the following:uninformedover-opinionateddouchebagsnarrow-minded cousin-fuckersrich frat boys (this kinda goes w/ douchebags)general assholesthe other 1/4 are genuine good people who just like relaxing, but the rest of them are missing the point of fishing.[Edited on June 25, 2009 at 1:35 PM. Reason : i really understand why folks stereotype me so quickly]
6/25/2009 1:34:22 PM
I was fly fishing for carp in my backyard this AM. Like 60 degrees, just beautiful. Caught two under three pounds on a breadball fly, fun as hell. There's some big ass carp at Lake Lynn I remember, you could see shadows 50 feet out from the bridges.
6/25/2009 1:35:47 PM
They have fishing tournaments at the local marina on the way to where I worked in VA and every morning to and from work I would see them milling around their boats and shout "Get a job hippies!" at them.not really connected to anything but it made me chuckle

There's a huge difference between fishing for carp and fly fishing for carp. It hasn't caught on everywhere.I prefer to "hunt" carp anyway with my bow
6/25/2009 1:43:22 PM
i agreei mean, you can definitely "fish" for flounderbut you can gig them too and that isn't "fishing" in my book
6/25/2009 2:03:35 PM
point taken
6/25/2009 2:05:09 PM
what do you do w/ the carp after you kill them w/ your bow, sd2nc?
6/25/2009 2:06:00 PM
I've only been on two "hunts" and they were to eradicate carp from two different lakes. It was sponsored by the CO DOW. We had teams of two and each team had a 50 gallon trashcan - there was a couple hundred dollar prize for the biggest haul. I am assuming they used them as mulch.
