To answer a few questions about the situation:

His roommate is one of my best friends and I am at their place at least twice a week. Right now she is house sitting and has the place to themselves, and all their shit is happening there. But if this continues into the fall and she's back to having a dorm roommate, she will probably start staying there. I am not going to let this effect the time I spend with my other friends, so I might have to deal with seeing her frequently.

She straight out told me the only reason we got together int he first place was because I was a rebound. Bitch straight up used me for over 6 months. While we were dating I would tell my friends the horrible things she put me through, and this guy even straight up said at the time "what a fucking bitch, she's horrible." Then, after we broke up, I had mentioned that she seems so much less attractive now that she has no control over me, to which he responded "she wasn't that great to begin with." So the dude straight out put her down and then all of a sudden wants to get with her. I have a feeling its just sex for her but he's getting emotional.

ive seen this happen to my friends twice.

once was a fling where a friend hooked up with another friends ex and they never spoke again

another time a friend ended up dating another friends ex and ended up getting married. i know at one point that one friend wanted to fight the other for starting a relationship with his ex...

when i was asked about the situation i felt like the only one who didnt care another friend would date an ex...

I'll use my one and only post on here to pose a question: Is it possible that your friend was only testing out the waters, so to speak, trying to gauge how you would react to his rant, in hopes that you might respond, "Fuck it, whatever. They ain't together no more, let so-and-so be wiener cousins"?

Dude wasn't being a hypocrite, but he was perhaps lying to elicit a reaction that would let him know if it was cool that he was boning your ex. You should be proud to have such a crafty, intuitive friend.

Alright man, a couple of things.
Admitted, said person is a hypocrite. Also admitted, when said person said that she that you were right about her not looking that good, he said that to make you feel better about it.
Yes, it's against protocol to do anything with your friend's ex. But you can't help who you wind up being attracted to or becoming interested in. I doubt said person is as shallow as you think and wouldn't have done anything if it was just about the sex. Maybe said person wanted to avoid the whole conflict of telling you that he had sex with her because he didn't think you wanted to hear it. But if prompted, he would tell you. It's generally a good assumption that if he asked you in the first place he probably assumed you still had feelings for her. And maybe, since your best friends with his roommate he didn't want the entire situation to be awkward and this is why he told you in the first place. I'm sure he feels bad about it too. Also, maybe you should actually call up this person and let him know what you think about him instead of providing quality entertainment for the entire wolfweb.

If a friend has sex with an ex, especially a close friend... it blows. It's happened to me before on a few occasions. But we're all big boys and girls - get the hell over it. An ex is usually an ex for a reason. If you need to vent to either or both of them, do it. Then, if the friendship is worth keeping, don't let it ruin things. If not, go your separate ways.

Since we're all sharing, back in college...

I went out with a girl for 4-5 months and then broke up with her. She was an idiot, had no ambition, and wasn't even all that hot (what was I thinking). Anyway, while we dated she met and became friends with a few frat bros of mine. After I broke up with her I told her I didn't want her coming around, at least for a little while. She said that's crap and she'll come over if she wants to. I also told my frat bros (that she knew) that I'd appreciate it if she didn't come over. Well as time went by I'd hear how she'd come over to the house when I wasn't around. i.e. one person in particular would invite her over when he knew I wouldn't be there. So I told her to stop coming over b/c she'll start fucking one of them. Then one day I went to her apt for some reason (can't remember) and she wouldn't answer the door. But her car was there, and so was my frat bro's car. Convenient.

Anyway a little while later I found out they were fucking. That frat bro never apologized or even admitted to my face that he slept with her.

Again, its about being lied to by someone that you thought you could trust. Not about the dumb whore. I guess it hindsight its a good thing, b/c you know which people are worth your time and friendship.

my buddy's sister that i spoke of earlier is only a year younger than us, so she's in the same circle. 2 of my other friends dated her, 1 of the slept with her quite a bit. I almost did this past weekend, but didn't want to do the ex thing. to me in my situation the friend's ex was more important than the friend's sister relation.
