I would say that if she has no misdemeanor priors she could probably get first offenders program. James Crouch is a good DUI lawyer, as has been suggested several times. She could maybe improve her chances by doing some community service prior to the court date (or get somebody to write her off for some). Insurance will go up but not exponentially, again, depending on her prior record.

you can go to student legal services to talk to an attorney about this also and its in confidence, as in, they won't notify NCSU about it.

point of advice: if you know that you will blow over the limit do not blow because you'll lose your license 6 months or maybe less and you don't cop a felony.

What a douche. There is a major difference between having 3 beers at the bar; and blowing a 0.08 at the DUI checkpoint (otherwise not driving recklessly enough to get a cops attention) versus the Drunk Driving Idiots you hear about who after taking tequila shots all night barrel 80 mph down Avent Ferry Road swerving across 5 lanes and hitting a Little Old Grandma at the bus stop.
