if you live by the metro, you have everything at your fingertips and live in one of the best places in america. my apt. was right on the green line. you can roll out the front door and be in adams morgan in 20 min. good times.

It seems kinda sprawled out to me, and roads everywhere so it feels a little like UNC. I haven't seen that much of it though, mostly the college park area I think?

I will say that the bus system is leagues ahead of NC State as far as being able to get downtown and to different popular apartment complexes at almost any time of the night...you can even get to DC just by using the buses to get to the metro. Its awesome.

i worked in laurel, and if the MARC trains ran to more places between B-more and DC, it would be great. Then I could live in the cheap 'burbs and still take the train to O's games and Dupont Circle.

there was some aviation museum up in college park that used to hold raves/parties all the time back in the day in College Park... was very odd to have all these planes around you the whole night.

family is from Baltimore, grandpa graduated from UMD then John's Hopkins. I like going back up there, granted it's not the south and never will be but the crabcakes are the shit (Phillips ftmfw) and my family likes to get like 100 blue crabs and boil them all w/ old bay and put newspapers all over a banquet table and just dig in..mmmmm blue crabs.

also an Orioles and Ravens fan (pre-superbowl).

UMD seem's to be NC State's kryptonite in basketball though...

i didnt read anything but the OP, but don't most colleges?

i mean, the brickyard is basically our only endearing feature. some things have gotten better, but our campus wasnt exactly designed for aesthetics.

is this really something state students argue about?
