I agree, I only have a superficial knowledge of GL so reading about it all in depth is pretty interesting. I've conflicted by the trailer - some parts look cheesy, some look cool.

I do think that Reynolds would have made a better Flash too, but oh well.

Well that trailer basically tells me the entire plot.

Only things missing are the comedic relief and the details of whats going to destroy the earth.

^ i'm pretty sure that the comics tell you the plot. and every comic book movie pretty much shows you the entire plot in the trailer. i don't see how this makes it a bad trailer, or should discredit the movie at all.

And I didn't point out earlier but I'm not a big fan of the cgi suit... and also, how hard is it to commit a real parachute to film? I'm guessing/hoping that the movie is still in post production and that it will be cleaned up.

Unfortunately they used the actor from Wolverine that ruined the Deadpool character. The association alone kinda created a bad first impression of this film.

I generally don't like Ryan Reynolds for the part (nerdrage) but I'm definitely going to see this movie. I'm worried it might be a little cheesy looking but, meh, whatever. It's a comic book movie adaptation.

More excited about this than Thor.

You didn't have a shit ton of aliens, a completely different world, and everything else shown in this trailer in iron man, so I'd argue that it was easier to sell iron man visually.

At most you had 2 mechanized suits and a shit load of explosions, as opposed to everything the GL's source material demands.

I don't have a problem with Reynolds, but I see this one going the way of the Fantastic Four.

The more recent trailers I've seen at the movies and on TV have taken a much more serious slant. Not sure if they were able to edit the movie to take on that kind of feel, but I think they heard a collective groan from people when it seemed more light-hearted.

So I just got home from seeing this movie.

It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible. I was a little bit more psyched about it since I love Green Lantern, but I feel like they could have done more with this movie. It felt a bit anticlimactic. They definitely could have had more action instead of build-up.

I thought Ryan Reynolds did a decent-enough job, and there are a lot of little salutes to fans of the comics themselves.

Not the summer-opening blockbuster I was expecting, but probably not worth the $12 I paid to see it in 3D.

I liked everything except some of the fights and action scenes.

^^ He's pretty good in Chaos Theory.

This wasn't a BAD movie, just overhyped and not really as good as any of the more recent Marvel outings. DC is not doing well for themselves on the movie front aside from Batman.
