After procedure complaint rate is low. There's always CO2, but I doubt he'd have have a kennel and duct tape for that, let alone a canister of the gas. I'd venture that a broken neck might be less painful than drowning (and the struggle). Or a heavy hammer, can't really go wrong with a hammer or club.

I really do hate how people get more worked up about a dog dying than humans. When I am watching a movie with my girlfriend if any animal is "harmed" she hides her eyes and cant watch it. She can watch civilians get killed all day though in any action movie.

When you use the "blue juice" to euthanize dogs, you're supposed to do 1 cc per 10 pounds of body weight to basically insure it will be quick and painless. If you hit the vein correctly and have the proper amount of drugs, it can take less than a minute. The heart rate begins to slow down drastically and only on occasion will you have a dog (or cat) who just has a crazy will to live and needs more than what would be fitting for them.. Even when that happens, we called it "stage 2" and they were so doped up they were not coherent at all. Also, a heart-stick (which is what we normally did for cats, unless they were feral) is very quick if done properly.

Compare that to drowning and tell me which one is more harmful. You can even go so far as comparing it to the gas chamber, which is another method used. Ever watch an animal sit in one while it's dying? It may not be "painful" but they do freak out.


Sorry this post was so graphic, but honestly, using the blue juice is much less painful than drowning, etc... (Except for maybe shooting it in the head, and even then you're going to run that chance of you missing or something crazy and it not dying.)

The man clearly has issues and didn't think through his scenario clearly. The supporters of abortion here who are against the killing of this dog are the ones who really get my goat. Often with abortion the rationalization of "they can't afford it" or "who knows what a kid in that environment would grow up to be" is used. the same could be used for this dog.

the man couldn't afford the dog or for all we know this dog once older could become mad and attacked, mauled, and killed a baby. we just don't know.

sure he is killing it after birth but it is just a dog, and many of you eat animals that have been killed everyday. these animals aren't exactly killed in the most humane of methods. furthermore it is not as if he bashed its head in with a hammer for his own enjoyment, he was doing what he ultimately felt he needed to do. regardless, if you believe life happens at conception then there is no difference between making this decision at 4months to term or 4months after birth.
