Boone,

Haha, a totally unexpected response. "I am too an expert!!!" You may as well have just saved yourself some keystrokes and said "N'uh!!!".

Anyways, I will end this laff fest by noting that anyone with a sams card and $40 can buy a home brew kit right this second, so don't expect me to shit myself in deference. Peace out, playa.

awww shit, re-posting for page #2:

Interesting piece of information I hadn't heard about, and for whatever reason was placed at the very end of the linked article I posted:

Quote :
"Meanwhile, a black Cambridge police sergeant on the scene the day of Gates' arrest wrote a letter to Crowley, asking him to mention to Gates and Obama that he is now known as the "black sergeant" and to some others as an "uncle Tom."
advertisement

"I'm forced to ponder the notion that as a result of speaking the truth and coming to the defense of a friend and colleague, who just happens to be white, that I have somehow betrayed my heritage," Sgt. Leon Lashley wrote. "Please convey my concerns to the president that Mr. Gates' actions may have caused grave and potentially irreparable harm to the struggle for racial harmony in this country and perhaps throughout the world."

Lashley wrote in the letter he would like Gates to reflect on the incident and ask himself what responsibility he bears
, what he can do to heal the rift and what he can do to mitigate the damage done to the officers' reputations.""

By the way, you guys need to chill. Beer is beer and people like what they like, and also IT'LL GET YA DRUNK!!!

As long as you don't sell it.

And there's some arbitrary limit to how much you can brew in a year that's not enforced.

Also, note that it was Carter that lifted the federal ban on homebrewing. So all the Carter-haters need to suck it.

Its july; the last thing i want to think about is christmas, the cold weather, the annoying commercials, and the shitty music.

i refuse to buy bud light. even if i have a bunch of my gf's annoying little college friends over that smirk when they hear the keg party

Dude you are a fucking asshat. During the week (and a lot of weekend nights since i enjoy volunteering to drive) I may drink only 3,4, or 5 beers. Hell tonight i had two Killians.
Either way if i am only drinking a couple brews to get a buzz without getting crunk; i'd rather have something with an actual taste
besides good old American Piss Water Light beer. I'd much rather have 6 Sam Addams Summer Lager then spend the same money to ensure
i can get extra sloppy drunk with a 12 pack of Busch light.

If you prefer to save money with cheap beer; then props to you. Otherwise STFU and let me know when you mature past the level
of a college freshman and actually learn to drink "real" beer.

I have a friend who orders Bud Light everytime we went to the Saucer.

If he enjoyed the cliche' taste of watered beer then so be it. At least he didn't talk shit about his friend there though that had some taste enough to enjoy the many microbrew and foreign beers.

lol did you come up with these lines yourself? "i'd rather have a beer with taste" "american piss water beer" etc? Because I swear I have never heard them before.

PS* I don't think you will impress Boone by saying you drink Sam Adams. He kinda takes the hipster approach to all matters involving taste--if its something anyone has heard of, it can't be good (the more obscure the better). Heck, he don't even respect old-school, high quality imports like Guinness. What chance does Sam Adams have? Though this portion of my posts gives you the chance to say "Hey, I don't care what other people think!!!"

Socks has it occurred to you that some people actually have different beer tastes than you that are genuinely developed, and are not "posing"? Or are you literally the big, fat, dumb baby that you play on the internet?

HaHa!! Are you fucking serious????? That's the *entire point* of this Thread. To say that because Obama says he will be drinking a Bud Light (a beer most people apparently don't like) that he is being a poser! Yet, I am criticized for taking the same argument to the beer snobs???

LoL Are You MentaL?

People who are touchy about "beer snobs" are pathetic dickshits. Oh my gawrsh, people enjoy and know something about something I don't ... better get out my same tired-ass arguments.

Meanwhile I'll be enjoying good beer, have fun drinking lagers lmao

^ What about people that are "sensitive" about light beer drinkers???

haha you're just crazy man. You had no problem w/Boone calling Obama a poser when he drinks Bud Light. But whenever I turn the argument around, then *I* am the prick?? lol Caahhhrraazzyyy man. You have totally let the argument I was making slip right by you.

They can drink whatever the fuck I want as far as I'm concerned ... it's not ME consuming it, so I don't really care what other people choose to fill up on. (Notice I'm not supporting Boone even though you really wish I was.)

But something that DOES happen a lot is people assuming I'm a prick/"beer snob" because I actually enjoy a good ale, porter, or stout from a decent craft brewery. And yes I can tell the difference between a fucking guiness and a decent stout, and no that doesn't make me a poser.

You're from NC and probably still live in NC. It's not surprising you haven't had the opportunity to develop any taste, just don't get butthurt about it.

^ Yah, I can tell you don't give a shit man. That's why you've posted almost half a dozen times, early on a Friday morning, in a thread on judging other people's tastes. lol You're good at this non-posing thing.

So you never responded to the op. Do you think Obama is posing for drinking a light beer? Not that I have to guess what your opinion is, you've kind talked yourself into a corner of "not caring" about others preferences. But I do think its interesting you started harping on me for making the exact same argument as Boone without even addressing the thread. Bird of a feather, I guess. Anyways, I gotta get to work. Peace out!!

PS* NC has some of the finest home grown brews in the south, and if you don't know, now you know.

I have no idea what the man's preferences are but he probably picked the beer he drank according to what would "play well". He's a politician. Duh.

He's not a poser FOR drinking a light beer alone. But the fact that the beer he chose was likely a calculated move does make him a poser. Such is the profession, though.

I'd wager that a couple NC breweries could easily win the pepsi challenge against a few nationally distributed craft brews.

Too bad poor ole socksdotdot isn't gullible enough to try one.

I LOL'd at Fox News getting on Obama's shit for drinking a beer that's not American owned. Which, in and of itself is stupid enough, but then they suggested he drink a Coors Light. Ummmm... pretty sure that's part of MolsonCoors, which last I checked was fucking Canadian!

My biology grad student friends tell me that different types of alcohol don't actually have different effects. I trust their expertise, not because of the 'biology' part, but because of the 'grad student'.

I thought they did though, not because of the alcohol but because of the other chemicals different beverages have.
