If you're exercising, then diet is what might cause you to gain weight or just not lose weight. Don't skip meals, and don't eat late at night. Some people find it helpful to record what they eat. Otherwise, you tend to eat random foods throughout the day and just forget about it.

i started working out 7 weeks ago.i do cardio 5 times a week and weights 3 times a weekthe scale has only showed about 10 lbs but i have lost a lot in inches...i have hit a plateau though.but i just gotta stick with it. my trainer says its because im not getting enough protien, since i am a vegetarian its a little bit harder for me.

Just make sure that once you get into a routine you don't stop. The fastest way to gain weight is to build up muscle and then let it go (just look at how many professional athletes get fat as soon as they retire)
