Yang played a great final 2 rounds. He won this tournament, it was not handed to him.

Absolutely. Yang posted a 70(tied with one other player for today's best score) in tough conditions, playing with Tiger. No one has ever come through quite like that.

it certainly was not handed to him with that eagle and the great 2nd shot on the 18th

but if you don't think tiger's horrid putting is partially responsible, then you're just ignoring the obvious

Yang deserved the win in the end

^ very true about tiger's putting

This is the first time Tiger ever showed a chink in the armor. His whole aura is based on having the lead after the 3rd round and winning it going away. I agree with the poster above about him giving the greens too much respect. The meat of the that golf course was the length tee to green. We're talking about fairly large sized, and for the most part, flat greens. I watched Saturday's round with a friend and he KEPT leaving putts short. Def not a "championship" short game this week.

One more thing, if the high cut isn't working why would you keep going back to that shot? He doesn't really need to work the ball into every pin, just take dead aim at the stick and trust the shots that are working at that moment.

oh definitely. Tiger could have completely ran away with it had several of those putts fallen. I just know the media will spin this as Tiger giving it away, when YE Yang deserves much praise for the round he played.

that eagle was insane.

yeah that eagle chip won it. i had been waiting for someone to make a shot like that against Tiger. Paddy could have done it last week. That's what it was going to take for someone to finally beat him like that.

Well no shit if any of these guys make all their putts they win. Nice excuse.

What happened was this. Tiger was in the other guy's shoes today. You know the ones that usually crumble and give him the tournament on the back 9 of a major. YE Yang was Tiger today and played steady golf while others faltered.

I think my favorite quote by Yang was this one talking about being paired with Tiger:

Quote :
"It's not like you're in an octagon where you're fighting against Tiger and he's going to bite you, or swing at you with his 9-iron... The worst that I could do was just lose to Tiger. So I really had nothing much at stake."

are you that retarded? when was the last time tiger has ever putted that bad on a final day. what other player in the field could have putted as badly as tiger did and still be in it on the 18th? nobody. and this isn't even "oh man he left that 40 footer 2 feet short." he must have missed half a dozen putts by two inches or less.

so roll your eyes all you want...you're just living in denial

I'm living in denial by saying Yang won it and Tiger didn't lose it?

Stop defending Tiger. He putted bad yes so did a lot of guys. Yang 3-putted badly on 17 or it wouldn't have been close. Big deal it is part of the game. Tournaments are won and lost on putting.
