I guess I will be the first one to answer the OP:- 32 (but I look and feel 25... when I joined my job 2 years ago, everybody thought I was a student )- University Lecturer- MOR (Master of Operations Research) (non-thesis version of the MS)- $26,906+ ~$10,000 from extra teaching in the college + private tutoring- Full health + dental cover for self, wife, baby- 1 ticket/year each for self, wife, baby to hometown (or we can fly anywhere and they pay upto $1,200; $1,600 when the baby is 2)And considering the facts below, the $37,000 is roughly equivalent to a $60,000 - $70,000 salary in the US:- No taxes of any type anywhere- Fully furnished housing fully paid for by wife's job- Internet and basic TV channels package paid for by wife's job- Petrol is $0.60/gallon for 95 octane ($0.45/gallon for 91 octane)And of course, the best thing:- 2 days off each week- 3 months off in summer (this year almost 4 months due to Ramadan)- Other holidays (religious, midterm, between terms, etc)I could probably get a job with my degree earning at least $40K as opposed to $27K, but the the number of days off are just too much to give up. I enjoy my time off with my wife and esp the baby now.

...it's sad that you would type all that out....
8/24/2009 11:08:57 AM
where are you now again 0epi?
8/24/2009 11:09:50 AM
so everyone is eager to share whether they have any foreskin on their cock, but they want to play coy when it comes to their salary?
8/24/2009 11:15:13 AM
i got no problem telling people what i make, because i know i make good money and i'm proud of myself for that. i don't have a degree (yet) so the fact that i make what i do is impressive to say the least.but i'm not gonna post it because that's just tacky. you don't talk about salaries. it's just one of those unwritten rule things.besides, this is TWW. one of two things will happen. 1) you post your salary and get ridiculed for being X years old and only making X per year, or 2) you post your salary and get accused of lying about and/or inflating your salary in order to make yourself look better (this is the internet, after all)so really, what's the point?
8/24/2009 11:16:32 AM
I'll tell you how much I made last month, but each month here varies wildly so this figure is no way representative of 1/12th of my annual compensation$11,412
8/24/2009 11:17:47 AM
8/24/2009 11:20:42 AM
$15 an hour as a co-op undergrad 2004-2005$21/hour as a masters co-op 2006$57600 base + ~8k overtime bonuses as a Ngc pdp in 2006-2007$28/hr as a graduate intern with clearance and a ton of experience relative to the work + 157 hours of overtime 1.5x pay...$$$$ summer 2008now... I make more... And I seriously love my job
8/24/2009 11:21:34 AM
i'd be happy to tell anyone about my compensation via PM, but it's not something i'm gonna post and brag about
8/24/2009 11:21:42 AM
17/m, my mom still gives me an allowance cuz i'm still in school, biology major, future orthopedic surgeon, still a virgin.
8/24/2009 11:22:25 AM
posting != braggingesp if you are posting because someone asked
8/24/2009 11:22:42 AM
on this message board, posting my salary would be bragging or, i'd still have assholes come in here and tell me i make shit. either way, it is not something i wanna deal with
8/24/2009 11:23:38 AM
I make a tad over $43K, but I also have roomates who pay my mortgage for me, so it works out well.
8/24/2009 11:24:28 AM
I will go ahead and brag...I got paid $2,133 for teaching an 8-day 40-hour concentrated summer course just last week ($53.33/hr)

26, sales consultant for caterpillar calling on a territory (2 dealers), degrees in business and communicationsalary is enough that i can put 23% into my 401k, own a home, put cash into savings every month, max my roth ira, pay all my bills, vacation regularly and go to the doctor when i need to0 credit card debt, 0 expenses related to a car (thanks to my job-- this saves a lot of money) and < $10k in student loansmy salary isn't unusually high, its certainly comfortable but an engineer can make more coming out than i do, 4 years out of college. i manage my lifestyle by saving money every chance i get. i dont buy anything at retail price, i shop around, i use coupons and i bargain/negotiate whenever possible. i also recently took on a roommate to free up more cash, most of which i will put into savings, the rest i will likely spend on more travel since thats what i loveedit... in fact check this out http://digg.com/d311lCHits kind of amazing. most people are patient enough to set it up though. when im in a position to have to pay for my own car again, i plan to use that model[Edited on August 24, 2009 at 3:21 PM. 27, Engineer at a small software company, making more than I know what to do with. I literally have zero debt. No school loans, no credit card debt, no car payments, nothing. I don't own a home yet, but that has a lot to do with my own procrastination. SECU has already pre-qualified me for a home loan in upwards of 200k, I'm basically waiting for the perfect deal to come along in Cary. My 401k is doing great and my savings continue to steadily increase. I've already mapped out my 401k expectations in excel and I should be a millionaire from my 401k alone, assuming the stock market doesn't crash, when I turn 53. All in all, I'm doing much better than most of the people my age salary-wise, debt-wise, and in the long-term... but not everyone.[Edited on August 24, 2009 at 3:49 PM. Reason : -]

After graduating in May in a filthy recession, I was very happy to be hired within a couple months for an hourly wage I thought was pretty good, including many benefits. But after paying all the bills and such, I find I really don't make shit . At least I found a job, right? Maybe I need to go back to school...

26 years old with a Business Management undergrad degree and a Juris Doctor Law Degree.I've gone from bartending, to practicing law, to bartending...now doing both. I manage a bar, work about 4 shifts a week, come in once a week to do a liquor/beer order, make a schedule, and handle other shit. It honestly depends on tips...but I make at least $60K being a bar manager. With at least $45K of that being straight cash. If bar continues to do as well as it has ben...then probably $75K all together. As for the legal job?? Just joined in part-time with a two-man firm with one guy retiring in a few years and he wants me to take his spot. Hard to guage how much money I'll make with them this year as I've only been at it for a couple weeks...but my broad range is gonna be $20-$30K. I'm probably putting in about 20 hours a week right now.Bar covers my health insurance. I do my own retirement/investments. That's about it.

I've always thought it was dumb that NC State doesn't force everyone to take some sort of Personal Finance class.
8/24/2009 4:22:09 PM
26...Chemical Engineer. Been out of school working for 3 years. I didnt get a raise last year because of the economy. I make $64,000 as a base salary. After 401ks and medical and everything, the company says they are going to pay me roughly $88,000 this year. I have student loans, a car loan, and a mortgage to pay. Too bad I'm taxed so much that I cant get significantly out of debt anytime soon. Its going to take me years to climb out
8/24/2009 4:23:15 PM
I make enough to eat all the cornbread I can stand.Steak, however, is another matter.

one of sloans classes is the REASON i started hitting my 401k hard the second i got a full time job and why i've been maxing my roth ira since i graduated. i never would have known how important that stuff was without the classhonestly, i dont ever know exactly how much im making until i get my bonus statement in march (wont get one this year). i have living adjustments, performance increases and promotion increases. i keep up but not with the actual dollar amount. i could guess within $5k
8/24/2009 4:48:35 PM
^Yeah...Sloan was the shit. Wish I had paid a little more attention...but I paid enough to do a few things right (Roth IRA for example).I've always been ridiculously responsible with money to begin with. I pretty much only splurge on good food and wine/drink...which definitely adds up, but I feel its worth it.

29, graphic designer, BFA degree, $30K. Not nearly enough for what I do and barely enough for a comfortable lifestyle. I'm stuck with the same salary I was earning 2 years ago thanks to a company-wide salary freeze.Career-wise, I've gone as far as I really care to go, since I don't want to take on the greater responsibility and longer hours of an art director, so I'm kind of biding my time making ends meet until I either win the lottery (unlikely) or get an inheritance from my wife's grandparents (almost certain but not for many years). My wife likes to delude herself into thinking she'll be a housewife with a couple of kids going to private school and a big house with a big yard, but realistically we can ever afford that in my line of work. That would have to wait until her grandparents pass on, and they're only 80 and in pretty good health.
8/24/2009 4:55:45 PM
I too make money through labor of some sort.
8/24/2009 4:56:55 PM
I make thousands of dollars a year.

I don't use my degree. I hope to be making significantly more by the end of this year. Probably going to get an MBA in the next 2-5 years and be making double that shortly thereafter. Retired by no later than 55 baby! [Edited on August 24, 2009 at 9:06 PM. Reason : I don't swing that way, sorry. ]
8/24/2009 9:05:35 PM
^^ ^ I was honestly joking. That's something that I heard all through school. "You will not make any money, yada yada yada, with your major". But, I make plenty and use my degrees ]
8/24/2009 9:05:44 PM
well i mean technically i DID earn my scholarships by being meyou can't learn my leadership and integrity skillsthey are a talent au natural but seriously. i need a sugar daddy or mama pronto
8/24/2009 9:08:22 PM
^ Thought you had a sugar daddy
8/24/2009 9:09:36 PM
Yeah, in many cases simply showing the ability to earn a degree opens a lot of doors, and then it's personality, work ethic, etc. that gets you moving. People used to ask me all the time, "what are you going to do with an English degree, teach?" To which I invariably replied, "fuck no," but I didn't really know what I wanted to do either. Things happened to have worked out pretty well for me though.
8/24/2009 9:11:13 PM
boyfriend does not equal sugar daddy my friend
8/24/2009 9:11:27 PM
I thought that was one in the same. I guess it is if you're a gold digger.
8/24/2009 9:11:59 PM
