It's also possible that they gave the sum of the priorities to groups, rather than just the leader's priority, i.e. a group with 5 seniors gets 25 lottery tickets and if any one wins then they get 5 tickets. That would certainly explain why there's a bias toward bigger groups. Either way, their system is fucked, but people are already printing tickets, and I doubt they have any way to fix it for this game.

sounds like people here don't have friends with which to form a group, thats what it sounds like to me

thats what the internet is for

Individually, you are weak and feeble

But when your powers combine...

my brother will probably be passed out in the parking lot by 6

If so, I'll make a post with a meeting spot first come, first serve

I've NEVER failed to get a ticket doing them individually

So... I'm thinking since a lot of people obviously got screwed, this 2nd request phase there will still be some tickets. Question is, should we make a group this time? I guess so

Just wait until the exact time that the tickets go On Demand and claim a ticket..with emails not being sent out to remind people to claim their tickets, if you're quick, you can probably snag one.

I used this approach for the Carolina basketball games instead of camping out (cause that shit sucks) and it worked every time.

I didn't sign up with a group because I was under the impression that seating was done the same way as it was last year... you show up and they give you a section based on when you show up. I generally go with 5-10 people and that's what we did all last year, sign up as individuals, show up at the gate 30-45 minutes before the game and get pretty good seats. I got a ticket to every game that way. I know with Basketball they do assigned seating so I was signing up with a group then, but I didn't think it was spilling over to football.

Either way, ANGER!

it's still done that way, if your group doesn't go in at the same time, you're going to sit in different places... I honestly don't see the point.

I also am a super senior (and graduating this Dec.) and did not get a ticket like I did for every single game last year because I signed up individually. Post on here if you guys do want to try for a group next time. I would be in if it increases my chances.

I bet what they did is programmed it wrong, like having the individual's loyalty points in a group add up togehter. So a group of say 4 s/ss/grad and 3 juniors would have a loyalty score of 32. Therefore even a group of 3 freshman or a group of 2 sophmores (6 points) will beat out any individual.

Why did so many people sign up individually? No friends? Its not really block seating since everyone is GA.....

well up until this fiasco there really wasn't a point to join a group. with seating beaing GA you can just get tickets on your own and then arrive with whoever you want to sit with.

Signing up individually makes just as much (if not more) sense than signing up in a group.

For example, let's say there are seven people in a group, who all sign up individually, and five are selected in the lottery. From there, it's typically easy to find two more tickets. Not only that, but you still get to sit together as long as you go in gate at the same time.

If you sign up in the group, and the group isn't selected, finding seven tickets isn't so easy.

So, it makes a ton sense to sign up individually, unless, of course, the system is flawed.

did more than one person on here GET a ticket?

I got one as did the 54 other people in my group. But just so you know some of them are dumbasses and probably won't claim as will with every group so be ready! Even though there is no point to group seating, it is great to have a group leader who always gets tickets. Yes whenever you arrive is where you sit and trust me thats a damn issue in itself. We TRY to get there late to get 14 15 and they still try to throw us in the end zone. NEVER!

What should happen is that they sort the tickets before the lottery. X number for groups and Y numbers for individuals. This time they just didn't give any to individuals.

see back in my day there was no registration, no waitlist bulshit. You lined up at Reynolds and waited. For the good games sometimes all weekend you waited. We would work in 2 person shifts holding the place in line all weekend long.

I always sat court side for B-ball and always had great tickets for football

There was no point system to determine if you were a fan or not. They determined that on how early you would line up and wait

i thought that was how it was supposed to be... from the ticket policy:

Quote :
"Students who request Group Seating acknowledge that their chances of winning in the
event of lottery are now dependent on selection of their Group Leader in the lottery
process.

Large Group Leaders, Small Group Leaders and individual students will be treated as
equals for lottery selection purposes.
• Small Groups will be included in General Distribution Seating. Selection of a Small
Group Leader in Lottery 1 will result in seating awards for all group members.

i. Sort 1, All Events of the Season:
1. Matches each Group Leader with the students who have requested to be seated with
that Group Leader, plus guests; a group total is assigned to each group-seating request.
a. Random selection of Large Group Leaders, up to a maximum of 40%, drawn
from the Block Seating sub allotment.
b. b. Random selection of Small Group Leaders and individual students, up to a
maximum of 60%, drawn from the General Distribution sub allotment, plus
any tickets leftover from the Block Seating sub allotment.

uh because we all tailgate together, probably end up having about 70 of us together. Ever since freshman year we have had groups of 40 plus. I have gotten a ticket to every game since I have been here. Basketball and football. The last NC State football game I wasn't at was when I was in HS. Why is that a problem? Large group up to 100 people.

Does it make any sense to stay up until 3 AM for Claim 2 period to start? Or are does it not matter as long as you claim it before the period is over (by 11:59)

that is IF I have one to claim this time
