Nope. I'm going to have to agree with gunzz on this one. Midwesterners, especially people from Ohio & Illinois (Chicago), have very strong accents. Maybe if you are originally FROM this area, you do not hear it. But believe me, they have one. I am from Raleigh, and most people from the Raleigh area do not think I have much of an accent. But people from other parts of the country think I have a southern accent. I know I have one. Just depends on who you ask.

I agree about the Minnesota accents. I think most everybody from one region or another in the US has a strong accent. Each region has bad and decent accents (aka. ones I can live with). I cannot stand Yankee accents or people that sound too "billy bob" ish. But whatever. People speak how they speak.

you would think that the being dead (or even the fact that he was 92 when last he had a pulse) would put cronkite out of the running...but it's the lack of an accent that kills it for you? nice.

Hugh Grant sleeps with prostitutes. M. Mac. apparently never bathes. I wouldn't want to sleep with either of them, but they have hot voices.

Likewise, I wouldn't sleep with a dead man, but he didn't have a sexy voice either.
