Hell Yes, Russell is the man, who else can find that damn immunity idols without a clue. Most can't even find them with a clue.

The look on the other tribes face was classic. I can't stand Laura & am ready for her ugly ass to be gone. I don't know why she said something about he just opened up all hell in the tribe...um, they were voting him out so its really their fault.

Russell deserves to win right now, but I doubt he'll be able to make it to the end...but he deserves it. One of the best players in a while by far.

I still don't like white russell (he's a sexist prick), but it is interesting to watch his scheming come to life and shock the other players. I didn't know that the idol goes back into play once it is used!! Do you think the rest of the season will just be people digging in the sand and picking through trees for the idol?

^i don't think he's sexist, his prejudice is strictly against dumb people, it just so happens the dumbest people on the show this season are girls (Natalie, Laura, and Monica seem to be the only ones left though).

From the preview it seems like the next episode is everyone panicking to find the new idol.

So Kelly had gotten voted off last week because Russell played the immunity idol. For the first challenge Russell's team won (Russell, Natalie, Dave, Brett, and Laura) so they got some lunch and received the next clue for the idol (hidden under a mossy rock). Immediately after getting back to camp most everyone runs off looking for it, Dave following closely behind Russ. Russ runs off, losing Dave, and then finds the idol.

Mick wins individual immunity, so Laura's free game for the foafoa people. Galu tries to throw everything off by telling foafoa they want John gone, and knowing that Shambo will def vote for Laura they figured that'll give them 5 votes to get rid of a foafoa (Natalie). foafoa doesn't fall for it and all vote for Laura, leaving a 5-5 tie. Laura and Nat sit out and they do a revote, but this time the votes read 5-3 with Laura gone. (John wrote Laura's name).

I had a really good feeling that John was going to switch. Galu fucked themselves by throwing him under the bus like that, and good for him to step up and do something about it.

However if I was on Galu, I would have forced a tie in the first vote, then switched all votes over to Russell after knowing he didn't play the idol. It would have been pointless when all was said and done, but they didn't know that until the end of the second tally.

i don't really understand the move for john (well i do, but don't agree with it). instead of being pretty tightly knit with a group of 5 (former galu minus shambo), he is on the outside of a group of 6 (foa foa + shambo + him).

of course, he could have been sent home or a part of a group of 4 based on how the rock draw went had he not switched his vote...so i guess that him making his move "assures" him in theory of making it to the final 6.

i don't know...i think if i were him i would have stayed with galu and hoped luck was on galu's side and shambo or someone on foa foa drew the wrong rock. we'll see how it plays out.

based on the previews it looks like jaison and him have an altercation of some sort.

this has been a great season so far.

^ I think John's play was smart, he didn't have a whole lot of options. If you look at it from a pure numbers standpoint, it would have been bad odds to draw stones.

First off, it's 50/50 that the stone drawing comes out in his favor and someone from Foa Foa draws a stone. If someone from Galu drew the stone, that he's worse off than if he jumps, because now he's down on numbers AND he's on the bad side of Foa Foa.

On top of the 50/50 chance, there is a 12.5% chance that he draws the stone and goes home. I realize it's still 50/50 in the end of a bad outcome, but I would much rather take the sure thing than chance those numbers.

John is out, can't say I'm surprised.

Preview for next week shows another gang up on Russell, Foa Foa included. I don't think he'll go because they never make it that obvious. Plus I think he would see it coming and play his immunity anyway.

I'm anxious to see Shambo's reaction to Foa Foa not voting Dave. I think he'll be next if Shambo is forgiving, or she will be gone if she can't get over it. (my first reaction was they should have told Shambo ahead of time, but then I remembered how much she loves her Johnny and she probably would have warned him)

I think it was VERY smart to vote off John...he shouldn't have mentioned anything to Russell about the idol. He also seemed like one of those snobby engineer types (very similar to some TWW folk).

Who is the dude that is sliding by from Galu tribe? I haven't seen him much and he is just skating by without anyone noticing him as a threat. I hope Shambo is voted off soon and hopes Natalie wins it as she is one tough little chick. I think she surprises a lot of people with her endurance. I am disappointed in Mick as he isn't as strong a competitor as I expected.

But Russell has to be a huge fan favorite now this season as he really makes this season interesting wondering what he is going to do.

Double council episode, both Dave and Monica are gone. Russell took a huge chance not playing his idol, but it paid off. He'll probably have to play it next week, looks like there will be an alliance shakeup.

Unless the previews are misleading, it looks like Mick, Brett, and Natalie will team up against Russell, Jaison, and Shambo. If this is in fact what happens, then the group that doesn't lose a member will most likely be the final 3.

I can foresee the first group making Russell think he's the target so he plays the idol, then gun for Shambo.

maybe they can get jaison on their side, 4 vs 2, and then have 2 vote for Russell and 2 vote for Sham, and assume Russell and Sham will vote for the same person, then all 4 vote for Russell in the tie-breaker if he doesn't use the idol and all 4 for Shambo if he does.

Russell would be either gone, or lose his idol and be gone the following council.

If Russell makes it to the final two it is really a tossup if they choose him or not. He has played the game amazingly well, nobody has even come close to his greatness in this season as he is the person dictating who goes each episode. On the other hand, who would want to give somebody 1 million dollars who owns an oil company and made 1.7 million last year alone?

Personally I think it would be stupid for anybody to take Russell to the final 2 seeing what he's done so far in this game. He's sure to work some magic on the jury if he made it that far.

First off, Russell coming to tribal and putting the immunity idol on was fucking classic.

It definitely looks bad for Russell at this point in terms of who he should take and who might turn on him, but he, Jaison, and Mick are all in the same boat I think (although he obviously being the most extreme)

They've all got money. Mick is a doctor, and I forget what Jaison does but he went to an Ivy League school. With a vast majority of jury members being their former enemies, they need Russell in the final 3 to show that they deserve the money more just as much as he needs them in the final 3 to make the point of, "Sure, I make a lot of money, but you aren't exactly giving it to the poor if you don't give it to me"

Obviously there is more thought to it than who makes more and who deserves it more, but if I were Jaison, Mick, or Russell, the only other person I'd want to take with me would be Shambo. I'm fairly certain Brett or Natalie would beat any three of those guys in the end.

if russell makes it to the final 3 or 2 (whatever it is), i think he wins no matter who he is with. he's played the game incredibly and i think that will outweigh the fact that he doesn't need the money and he's made some enemies.

its like evil dick on big brother (forgive the big brother reference in a survivor thread) - he pissed off everyone in the house and people hated him, but he played the game better than everyone and ended up winning the million.

i think in the end, how well the person has played the game is usually the criteria the jury uses (unless they are bff with one of the remaining options).

have i mentioned i hate shambo and can't wait for her to get sent home? i would be quite angry if she did win.

^^Agree completely. Most times on shows like this, including past Survivor seasons, the jury votes for who played a better game and not who needs the money more. Even if everyone on the jury hates Russell I still see him winning by a landslide. The best thing all the others can do is get rid of him ASAP. Hopefully that doesn't happen though, as he has made this if not the best season ever than one of the them.
