I've never played the first game, should I buy/play it first or just go ahead and buy Among Thieves since it sounds better?

I would play the first since you get a better understanding of your characters and they've tied in some characters from the first into the second. But the story is different.

Of course Naughty Dog is going to say it won't run on the 360, they are owned by Sony.

It would probably require multiple discs though.

I've read multiple reviews that said playing the first doesn't matter. But i've also read if you play this one, it'll make the first one seem sucky.

So if you want the maximum amount of entertainment, you're better off playing the first, THEN playing this one.

picked up the first one earlier today for $27 at gamestop

I'm in the 4th chapter now and the game is pretty damn sweet. It reminds me a lot of God of War, but not quite as good, still good company to be in

definitely glad I picked this one up to play before the second game

I'd say harder because they could be everywhere and i'm always seeing shiny things that aren't actually treasures but part of the environment lol.

there were quite a few that i discovered late in the game that involved getting them by shooting them off a branch of some ledge you can't get to. The fact that i figured that out so far into the game tells me i missed a bunch like that.

I beat the game today (on normal mode), and i would say that i enjoyed it just about the same as the first one. the only things that i noticed were better were some of the chapters (fighting on the train, fighting across the trucks) were exceptionally well done and enjoyable, and the graphics were pretty much breathtaking. will probably play it through again on hard, and am about to check out multiplayer

i'm on the second to last chapter on hard first time through. I think i'll play through again on extreme or whatever it is and try and get the remaining treasures.

Finally had a chance to sit down and play this. It's better than the first game in pretty much every way. The graphics are obvious, but the gunplay and action set pieces are sooooooooo much better. Also, it has the best written and acted characters I've ever seen in a video game. Puts a game like GTA4 to complete shame. The only game that comes close in that aspect is Half-Life 2.

My only complaint so far is the platforming is still kinda meh. It needs some sort of grip meter and the distance that Drake can jump as well as the things he can grab onto should be consistent across the board. Otherwise, it's nothing more than an interactive cut scene.

I gotta tell ya, it's a bit hard going directly from Batman: AA to this. I keep wanting to go into detective mode and bust out some 20 hit combos. Game is really good (loved #1) but gameplay feels slightly aged in all honesty. Can't beat the presentation value & character acting, though.

It's one of the first shooters, if not the very first, to successfully integrate climbing/platforming mechanics into a multiplayer shooter. That's pretty huge.

Beat it on normal. I like that you can see how many treasures you have from each chapter from the chapter select screen. But when I started a new game on hard, it took the chapter select option away completely. So I went back to my old save file, and I guess I'll just play through hard chapter by chapter from the chapter select screen so I can keep up with the treasures I'm missing as I go

I thought blu-ray was awesome but I haven't bought a blu-ray movie in at least a year. I've had the same 3 netflix discs for almost a year. Things like netflix instant streaming on the xbox, Apple TV have quickly replaced my need for buying blu-ray or renting blu-ray discs.

Gaming is debatable but i think its better on the xbox. Of course there are rare gems like uncharted and uncharted 2.

I've never once used the browser on the PS3. (ok maybe once just to test it out)
