They don't run that offense if you care. I lived in Pac-10 country for three years (the only three he has coached out there). They ran a variant of the Flex offense and it seemed to work pretty well... Actually Harden ran a lot of pick and roll with Pendergraph too, a very NBA-type set.

Anyway, I'll take second round losses as a 7 seed in the NCAA to finishing 10th in our own conference. Maybe I'm crazy, though...

I don't think I ever said that Herb is running the same style of game at ASU. I know his new game is more like what BC runs. The Pac-10 is a mediocre basketball conference, so I figured he'd do well out there.

I wasn't a Herb hater while he was here, but I'm also not going to look through bullshit rose-colored glasses and claim that I wish he was still here.

Surprising to most of you but I agree with this. The problem is A led to B. Running Sendek off led to everyone wanting a big coach and that combined with our shitty AD led to B.

No, not like that one at all actually. In fact, that is one of the most terrible comparisons I have ever heard. Aside from taking alot of threes, the Suns offense (when they were good and leading the NBA in offense) is pretty much the exact opposite of a Sendek team in every way.

I've never heard it referred to as a variation of the "Princeton Offense", but even if you are right the offense that we ran under Herb was a plodding, methodical, run-out-the-shotclock offense that relied heavily on intricate player movements and reads and was combined with hard nosed defense so that we could compete with teams more athletic than we were.

The D'Antoni offense was up-tempo, run and gun, free wheeling and was combined with a loose transition focused defense.

Wait what has Sendek done that I'm supposed to be impressed with? He missed the tournament two years and took a police horse dump on halfcourt last year with a star studded team.
