Florida to the ACC?...lets stick with reality please. That would be about the only move that could top the hiring Ron Zook in the realm of utter stupidity. Florida gets way too much money and prestige from being in the SEC to consider moving, ever. Being in the SEC helps with $$, national interest, fan support, increased donations, recruiting, and attracting top notch coaches. We usually get to play great competition in conference on a weekly basis. Also, two of the three biggest rivals are in the SEC and it would be impossible to maintain games against all three if we switched. Not to mention getting to annoyingly pat ourselves on the backs constantly as Gators for being in the best/toughest football conference. The one pro about the ACC is we would get to play Miami more often which I wish we did every season.
If anything it would make a lot more sense for F$U to be in the SEC...but that is another argument and unlikely anytime soon.

http://blogs.newsobserver.com/accnow/bowl-shuffling-continues Independence Bowl in, Emerald Bowl out.
Thoughts on the Sun Bowl: El Paso is probably the worst destination on the list save perhaps Shreveport, even if it is "better" than some other bowls in the pecking order and in term of payout/reputation. The ACC could draw decent matchups and games but this is VERY far for most fans, especially with nothing of interest close by. Maybe this is where BC gets sent when they have good seasons...I can't imagine ANY ACC school traveling well to El Paso.
Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Charlotte, DC, Mobile all look like better destinations for NC State fans. 10/9/2009 2:38:45 AM |

I'm pissed we lost the Gator Bowl. That was our only New Years Day bowl game (save whatever BCS game the ACC gets). That's bullshit. 10/9/2009 8:33:25 AM |

Eh, who cares about the date. Sure, New Years Day bowls hold more perceived prestige, but then again, they don't even play the fucking Sugar or Fiesta Bowl on New Years anymore.
Truth of the matter is, the Gator wants to survive, and after the ACC shit all over it with the ACC CG patheticness they didn't want to risk dealing with the shitty ass fanbases of Wake, GT or God forbid Boston College.. 10/9/2009 8:50:57 AM |

The Peach bowl has the same cache has most New Years Day games, anyway
Its the only game on, and everybody has it on while they're pre-gaming for Dick Clark
