I would say Lebron.

But seeing as how he lived up to the hype, he was hyped, but not "over-hyped".

If the thread criteria is over-hyped, ie hyped but didn't live up to it, I'd have to say Bush.

Also Ovechkin was pretty hyped, and he lived up to it. Also as NyM said, Strasburg is up there as far as baseball goes.
