Shirataki tofu noodles are delish.

I like them w/lots of garlic and broccoli. They're super low-cal.

Keep avocados at room temperature until they get soft and ripe. Then put them in the fridge if you aren't going to use them at that point and it will keep them from getting overripe too quickly.

coffee is great for you. it's one of the best sources of antioxidants you'll find.

then again if you load it up with cream and sugar, it's not good for you. you gotta man up and learn to drink it black.

Avacado recipe

Get three avacados and cut them in half, spoon everything out except the middle and mash them up (like guacamole). Add 1 can of rotel with habaneros (if you really want to be healthy dice up some fresh tomatos and peppers and throw them in instead). Add a little lime juice and salt until it tastes good.

spread that shiz on sandwiches or eat with pita chips etc for a snack.

right now im also trying to make my own power/protein bars

I mix natural peanut butter (almond butter would be better though), sunflower seeds, honey, dried fruit (strawberries or blueberries) and chocolate protein powder. Then throw it in the freezer until its kinda hard.

right now they just taste like peanut butter so I think I need to add more chocolate powder, but still pretty good. (note: these have a lot of calories)

Coffee is a mixed bag. Some studies have shown it to be beneficial, and some studies have shown it to be harmful. And any source on it being "one of the best sources of antioxidants"? That's seems like a very wild exaggeration.

coffee is acidic and messes up the pH of your body and causes your body to retain extra fat around your organs to protect them from the acidic environment.

so says once source i read. i'm no nutritional w/e major though

http://www.ehow.com/about_5154942_side-effects-chia-seeds.html

I read a blog somewhere where a lot of people had bad reactions - I'm assuming allergies from taking the seeds...

I can't find it currently but it turned me off when I was thinking about buying them.

^^ WTF dude? Sauces and powders? Add some vegetables and real herbs to it, just as you would/should to any other grain.

Stir fry (in olive oil) some onion, garlic, zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms, spinach, tomato, chickpeas, etc, along with paprika, basil, oregano, thyme, etc, and add to the boiled quinoa.

Add some chicken, meat or fish as well.

ncsuGALxcPaC, I looked at your link, but it was basically useless, full of conjecture and outright ludicrous statements ("it is full of fibre... it may give you diarrhea!" "it can lower BP and if you already have low BP, you may die!"... yeah well, the same could be said of fruits, vegetables, and grains). Too bad the page you read about bad reactions can't be found now... because I am very curious.

Anyway, I don't eat them because I don't have access to them where I live. However, I ordered some healthy protein bars once and they were in it, and I loved them because of their texture and taste. Read the links below.
