Rivers, Gates, Kaeding, and Merriman were clutch in that win. I'm sure the giants will appreciate that

Rivers for the last TD, Kaeding for the go-ahead point, Merriman on the sack to end the game...

I'd say that trade worked out for them.

That's what they get for trading him.

And how about Nate Kaeding. 675 straight XPs.

What do you mean "that's what they get?" Eli was the better QB in this one.

C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT RATING
P. Rivers 24/36 209 5.8 3 2 86.5
E. Manning 25/33 215 6.5 2 0 112.6

The problem was as good as the Johnson interception was, he was playing out of formation on every other play.

Before the second SD touchdown you can see Pierce yelling at him to move and Johnson waved him off. As soon as the TD was scored, Pierce yelled at him, you could see the "I told you so" pissed off look on his face.

i bet he means they get a loss, yay

on nfl countdown this morning they replayed all that eli/draft crap, it's still incredibly annoying -- there was no need for archie and peyton to be all involved, lame

i desperately wish we could get our running game going, pretty pleased with the defense except for those first half long drives/multiple 3rd and long conversions

go bolts

Overall...I would say that every single NFL team would take those three over just Eli. The Giants would have won the Super Bowl with Philip and probably about 10 other NFL QBs.

But if there was an argument about who has been the better QB overall...you would say, "Philip may have the better stats, but Eli has won a Super Bowl." Philip won the game tonight and Eli lost. END. OF. STORY.

ah ok, I see how it goes now.

When someone compares overall stats and shows that Rivers has much better stats on paper, Eli's defense is the ring and that he is better because simply winning games is better than stats when comparing QBs.

But when they actually play head to head and Rivers delivers the game winning drive, Eli is the better QB because he had the slightly better stats.

I got it now.

edit: ^ missed that post somehow. pretty much exactly what I wanted to say.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out that the chargers offensive line is garbage, and it has been all year. Rivers has been damn good this year, but he's playing out of his mind considering he has no time to throw and gets hit way too often.

Great win though.

Exactly my point. This isn't fantasy football were talking here. Point is, Bolts with the W. Giants with the L.

although it sucks having LT not playing as well as years past, it is nice hearing announcers and promos that talk about "Rivers and the Chargers" instead of "LT and the chargers". Announcers are saying a lot nicer things about Phil now compared to when he started

If there weren't three or four drops by some of the Chargers' best receivers this wouldn't even be a conversation.

See? The what if game is easy to play.

^ as a purdue fan I could pull the, what if instead of being stupid and calling a time out we made notre dame spike the football like they were going to. Long season's, stuff happens, gameplans change throughout the game based off of scores.

I thought you had to make the playoffs to go to a bowl game.
Not to mention the 3 dropped TD passes.

But hurt giants fans itt

I'm a state fan I can play the what if game all day.
