But give it a shot. The only 2010 file incompatibilities I know about are with OneNote and Visio, so far everything else I've used (Word, PPT, Excel) seems to be fine working interchangeably between 07/2010."

outlook works fine. it gives a warning when you open the pst file in 2007 saying that some features from the newer version may not be supported..but it works fine.

it may have messed up my NK2 file, though. it's not auto-figuring out names when i start to type them in, gah

wdprice3: The fact you haven't managed to do any part of the process as prescribed (from download to install to usage) tells me that your system is all kinds of fucked up.

Virus/shitware/something is causing this, because you've experienced more problems just getting it installed than I've heard from the several hundred people I know that have been using it on a daily basis.

k

update to my previous post in regards to Outlook

Exchange does NOT play well going between versions. I'm not real sure what I did but I can't get either one to open at this point. I'll try some things and report back.

^^you shitbrick, it installed fine and I didn't even post about the install. and what part of the process did I fucking miss? I downloaded, installed, and used. it fucking crashes when I copy/paste in excel, how is that missing a process? there isn't a damn thing wrong with my system seeing as how everything else on it runs just fine, including office 07 when it was installed. this is a beta version, it has bugs, I'm finding them and can't get shit done. quit being such a fanboy

Like I said, you're experience is not anywhere near indicative of the overwhelming majority.

I'm not saying there aren't bugs, I've submitted a number myself. But when BASIC functionality (open ing the program, copy/paste, scrolling issues) starts fucking up all over the place, you have to start questioning more than the applications themselves.

Not being a fanboy at all. I just know you have extremely limited technical knowledge about anything, and people such as yourself tend to blame the thing they are looking at without thinking about the rest of the environment.

download != install & usage. and it's not my fault MS can't figure out how to get their shit to work in FF and IE. I have no other issues with FF or IE and you can't fuck up clicking a button, thus I believe the downloading issue (not installing) was a MS problem, not mine.

And I never said my problem was what everyone else was experiencing, I was merely posting the issues I was having. Even after a repair & a reinstall the issues came back. I doubt it has anything to do with my machine having issues, as this is the only solution you seem to have. It is probably a bug in the software. The event log just shows application failures and I have no other problems. Like I said, everything else runs fine... this software package is the only thing having issues... it's probably the software

not going to argue about it, doesn't matter to me (as O2010 works just fine), just trying to give YOU some helpful advice to possibly get it working correctly. You do what you want though

i finally got it to work and this is actually the first microsoft product i actually like/am excited about using (except for the move to windows 95 back in the day ). i'm using it at work and so far no errors, works fine with our exchange network (server running 2003, several users on 2007 and 2003). i <3 the new business contact manager very much.

i'm going to talk to our other IT guy and see what he thinks about loading it on our bookkeeper's machine so she can test out business contact manager. we're in the market for project management/invoicing/timesheet/payroll software, but since it's all soooo expensive i'm looking at the worst case scenario (we don't buy much of anything by the end of the year), even though BCM only handles the proj mgmt side, we have a $60 copy of quickbooks and are looking at a free timesheet/payroll software.

I uninstalled it from my work PC because it kept hanging when trying to check my e-mail accounts. It would get to the last e-mail message in one of the 4 accounts I check and then would freeze. No clue, but I uninstalled it and put 07 on its working great.

At home 10 is doing just fine and seems to be sharing my PST between work with no problem.
