ha love it.
also.. about favre. MIRAGE. the curtain comes down in a month and a half. he hasn't met my friend 'Darren Sharper' and our insane pass rush. His hollow bones will finally collapse after 2 or 3 blind side blitz sacks into the back. 12/1/2009 12:05:04 AM |

no. it def will be a major test. probably the difficult oppenent we could face in the nfl at this point. Colts will lose early i predict. too 1 dimensional.. somebody will figure it out and if they do play us in superbowl it'll be a very similar game to tonight.
man even reggie bush is out. and we were playing BACKUP corners against brady. man. i can't believe this. ha

exactly. part of me wants to see this matchup(colts/saints) in superbowl since i think it's more manageable than some other teams. all the pass happy teams suffer vs. us. this is why the cowboys will be a huge 40 point lopsided raping.

I've been trying not to join the Saint/Vikings lovefest like everyone else this year...but watching both of them play this past weekend, I was very impressed. I still don't think they are as invincible as everyone is making them out to be (I feel like I've seen the Saints struggle a lot more than the Vikings have this year)...but when both teams are "on", they're pretty much unstoppable.
I think there are only 4 Superbowl contenders left....Saints/Vikings/Chargers/Colts. The Patriots defense is just weak and they just have seemed to lose that "it" factor that they've had for the past decade. It's almost like they are doubting themselves for the first time in a while. The Chargers are definitely at the bottom of that list, but if their defense keeps improving (and it's looked damn impressive lately), then they can definitely contend with the top 3. I just don't know if the Colts and Chargers can get by on just passing. It's obviously a passing league, but both of their run offenses are virtually non-existent. And LT might have had a couple rushing TDs this past week, but he still didn't even break 50 yards total rushing. 12/1/2009 10:24:03 AM |

I'm getting irritated by Gruden as an announcer
He's so quick to heap praise on anyone and so reluctant to criticize even the most egregious mistakes
I understand he doesn't want to burn bridges for whenever he decides to get back into coaching, but its a little much
Its like him, Tirico and Jaws had a race to the locker room at halftime to see which one got to blow Drew Brees first 12/1/2009 10:26:33 AM |

I agree.
Everyone will definitely be expecting one of the Pats/Colts/Chargers to come out on top...but you've got the Bengals...who are still hard to figure out. They look like they can beat any team on some nights and then just going through the motions against teams like Cleveland and Oakland. But whether their division is a little down this year, sweeping the Steelers and Ravens is impressive. Then you have Pittsburgh, who looks like they are in a downward spiral right now...but still have been there and won it (they were the wild card that year), have Big Ben playing well (if he's not hurt), and have lost most of their games with Troy out. And how about WTF Titans?? Would be crazy to see them continue their streak and make it in.
NFC playoffs is gonna be a snoozefest until the title game. 12/1/2009 10:57:31 AM |

I hope the Saints and Vikings both keep winning
Because the Vikings lost was to an AFC team and conference record is the first tiebreaker, the Vikings will win the 1 seed if they both finish 15-1, 14-2, etc
So it would really be something to go into week 17 with Minnesota at 14-1 and the Saints 15-0, and both not being able to rest any starters 12/1/2009 11:52:13 AM |

^ I think the real thing though to consider is what TYPES of teams they have beaten.
New England. A thorough beating. Somewhat similar teams... Minnesota Vikings, Dallas cowboys(have yet to play, but the NE beating shows that they will be able to at least handle and have a decent shot at beating these teams) Minnesota has Adrian Peterson and that opens up a run game, so Minnesota obviously is mega-feared compared to cowboys.
Miami Dolphins... close win, but managed to have a huge 4th quarter. Showed they can comeback. Carolina panthers are similar in that they run a lot, and a similar result the first game with them.. came down to a close victory for us.
Then there's ATL falcons, with an above average game on all sides of the ball, as well as Michael Turner (that guy is a beast), and of course that came down to a 1 score game too. And again we managed.
We've also been able to handle the 'good defenses as of lately' teams as well such as Eagles/Giants(not the same pass rush they used to have but still OK)/ and Jets (their D has stepped it up lately)
TB/STL/BUF/Detroit - this calibur of teams.. not really much to speak of here other than i hope we don't let our guard down.
the crazy part is that we have 1 team from each of these categories to close the regular season
1. washington -> decent defense. have to get an early lead and force them into an uncomfortable spot offensively. this game almost worries me the most of all the remaining teams. 2. atlanta -> good all around. but too many injuries at this point for them to be a huge factor. 3. dallas -> this will be the mega beat down of the century. you think i'm crazy when i say we'll beat them by a 40 point margin. watch out. payton hates these freaks. 4. tampa bay -> this team is pretty terrible 5. carolina -> this one worries me the same as atlanta/washington does. this could be our 1 loss actually if carolina has a huge run game and gets an early 14-0 lead or something. 12/2/2009 9:48:33 AM |

I think its hilarious they're having all this success with Reggie Bush as an afterthought
He will be gone next year...no way they're paying him 8 mil
He had a good run in New Orleans...maybe even two or three of them 12/2/2009 9:53:19 AM |

^ you mean this:
Quote : | "According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, the Saints aren't planning on bringing back Reggie Bush in 2010.
Bush is scheduled to make $8 million next season, and the Saints don't feel that he's worth that lofty of a price tag. He's been bothered by chronic knee problems, which caused him to miss the last two games, and has been an unreliable source of production. Considering the Saints have Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell, they don't need to fork up that kind of cabbage for a third-string, change-of-pace back." |

people are questioning it already
for that cost I would say no he wouldn't. Maybe they can restructure something but who knows. The main thing is Brees so now that Pierre and Bell are doing well he might be something that could be traded. 12/2/2009 10:04:16 AM |

^^ I think the Saint's are one of the 4 best teams in the league right now, but I wouldn't get too high just yet. Their offense is outstanding, but I'm not a believer on the defensive side yet.
Teams that run the ball well can beat the Saints. 12/2/2009 10:13:54 AM |

^see, the last 5 years i would have agreed 100% with you. and i'm sure you are taking history into account(rightfully so)
but let me put it this way: The DF is kicking ass.
People are able to run a bit on them but to be honest it's not a big deal as long as the rest of the team is playing normal.
People don't run the ball when they are behind and under pressure to score TDs every drive.
Like I said, this is why a carolina could be our only potential loss this year.

I think if the saints are able to score 17 points at Carolina they are gonna win that game
From what ice watched they can't really get the ball past the opponents 35 yard line.
I want to see them play in cold weather too 12/2/2009 11:18:08 AM |
