Lebron is a beast...but I mean all these people wanting to crown his ass don't realize he isn't there yet
Kobe is still better
Now granted, at this point in their careers, ie 7 years in, Lebron is a better player right now than Kobe was 7 years into his career
At the same time, Lebron was better as a rookie than Michael Jordan was as a rookie, and damn near every other rookie ever...although Carmelo was right up there, which is just props to how good Carmelo is...but Kobe after 14 years or whatever is better than Lebron after 7
Lebron just isn't there yet...there are things he doesn't get yet...he still has a lot of maturation to do...and honestly I haven't seen the passion and hunger and drive from Lebron consistently like you saw from MJ or see from Kobe...thats the thing guys like Vince Carter and T-Mac and Clyde Drexler never had
But once Lebron gets a reliable jump shot...the sky is the limit] 5/11/2010 10:18:11 PM |

lebron's a better overall player
kobe is better at scoring 5/11/2010 10:26:26 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148441 Posts user info edit post |
I'd almost say all things considered, Lebron is a better scorer, though Kobe is obviously a better shooter
I certainly agree Lebron is a better rebounder than Kobe, and a better shot blocker than Kobe
I think assists and steals are kind of a wash
But Kobe is definitely a better late game and clutch scorer, and those are the most important points
And like I said, Kobe has a better will to win...if you gave Kobe Lebron's supporting cast, they might not win this game...but they wouldn't give up either
Kobe's drive and determination are superior to Lebron's and thats one of those intangibles you can't overlook
Lebron could put up 45 points, 15 boards, 13 assists, 3 steals and 5 blocks...and brick a late game jumper to lose a game
Kobe could go 5/16 from the field all game with 7 turnovers...and hit 4 shots in a row late in the 4th quarter to win a game
THATS what defines greatness] 5/11/2010 10:28:54 PM |

lebron took over the better scorer title this year, especially if you factor in shooting percentage, what kobe still has over lebron is the ability to explode in points late in the game when his team needs it
and jordan averaged 28ppg his rookie yr, he was definitely better, but of course he had three years of college 5/11/2010 10:33:14 PM |

^^my bad, what i meant was at 18 years old...since kobe and lebron were both nba rookies at 18, i fucked up and implied jordan like that but i meant at age 18, lebron was better than both kobe and mj were at age 18

Once I heard of him in HS I was curious to see if he could live up to the hype. Then for his first few years in the NBA is looked as if the hype was real. Then the first crack was when he refused to shake hands after losing to Orlando last year. I mean.. I get the whole.. I'M A COMPETITOR RAWR RAWR RAWR but come one dude, have some class, shake the guys hand. Ever since then I've seen him in a different light. 5/13/2010 9:37:02 PM |

To get in his head, because he might go there now, since he failed to deliver for the Cavs. Spike Lee who is an avid Knicks fan was cheering for the Celtics, because he wanted lebron to lose, so he'll go to the Knicks. 5/14/2010 8:45:21 AM |

If he cares about championships, he should sign with the Lakers for the mid-level exception.
Of course that would never happen, but I am curious about what might be going on behind the scenes with some of the other free agents to create some sort of "mega-team", with 3 star players that are actually in their primes, and not some combination of star, up 'n' comer, and fading veteran. I know I'd be thinking highly of the team that could manage to get Lebron, Wade, and Bosh on the same squad. 5/14/2010 1:01:20 PM |

not bullshitting, I just read an article saying that Lebron is going to ask the Cavs to fire Mike Brown and replace him with John Calipari. If that happens, then Lebron will presumably stay in Cleveland with his "hand-picked" coach.
As a lifelong Cavs fan, I want nothing more than for Lebron to stay in Cleveland, but dammit I dont want that sleazeball Calipari running the show. 5/14/2010 1:27:11 PM |

God I hope this happens. I'd love to see Calipari back in the NBA and then watch him flame out again. LeBron is an idiot if he actually stays in Cleveland even though that is where I'd personally like him to stay unless he wants to join the Hawks 5/14/2010 2:38:41 PM |
