yeah i just tried it. it's similar to BFBC2 but your shots actually count for something in this game. it doesn't take a million bullets to bring someone down. i'll probably buy it when it comes out to see the full maps and game types. right now it's kinda boring.

I think it's interesting they finally bowed to pressure and changed the name from 'Taliban' to something along the lines of Opposing Forces now.

Probably would have been better to do so after the first media wave, but before the game was banned from the video games shelf on Military bases.

59.99 x 2 = 119.98

119.98 x 1.07 = 127.38

127.38/3 = 42.79

so maybe 45

If I am putting all of the money up to get them, and using my gas and time, that's worth $50.

I got the full game on xbox... Been playing through the campaign (obviously no live).

it is NOTHING like MOH:AA. I loved AA and was very excited for this... big thumbs down.

it is pretty "realistic".. Counts the 1 round in the chamber (so 31 bullets, not 30).

2 main weapons + pistol

NVG makes your vision a circle (no peripheral) unlike COD (IIRC IT just turned the screen green?)

there is a VERY cool level where you are the gunner in a apache ah-64. have hellfires, rockets, and teh 30 mill cannon.

links the single player. You are a ranger and get ambushed, almost die, then the apache saves you. then you play the apache. apache is bingo fuel back to base and a AA battery is spinning up to shoot it down when the operators head explodes.. them you are the sniper who saved the chopper. ect.

cons-

mag changes always result in a full mag (doesnt remember you changed mag with only 20 rounds shot)

unlimited pistol ammo

tilt/lean control very awkward to use on 360 controller. probably better with the PC (i have a 5 button mouse i used for it in MOH:AA)

buddies have a "request ammo" function, but give you FULL ammo (like 1000 rds for m249) and say stupid shit like "dont miss!" or "make them count!"

enemies are hard to kill... 2 rounds in chest and they will hide behind cover for 10s and be back to full health. takes a headshot or some full auto blasting to kill them.

grenades are kinda wierd. havent figured out how to throw them properly yet. they do "cook". i dont think you can throw them back like cod.

well to be fair, this is how it would be in real life

They should at least cycle the partially used clips back into the rotation of clips. That's also how it would be in real life.

so do you think someone that enjoys realistic shooters would like this game?

^^this. I wish if you had a 30 rnd clip, shot 5 rnds, 1 in the chamber, then there would be 24 left in the clip. If you hit reload, it should remember you have a clip with 24 left in it.. when you run out of full clips it chooses the fullest remaining clip first.

i would say this is the most realistic shooter i have played so far.

keep in mind i have never been in the military or armed forces.

I will be buying it for PC soon to try out the multiplayer. EA was good about MOHAA's aftermarket support, maybe this will be the same. Im itching for a PC based shooter after playing entirely too much COD MW2 and HALO 3/odst/reach on 360 since my last PC shooter... (CS, Mohaa, and the original WW2 COD)

just finished the single player.. its very open ended.. not very long either. Beat it in ~4 hrs on "hard".

Not sure if my hacked copy is the cause or what b/c idk if this is a release version or not, but it was VERY buggy on the last few levels. Had FPS issues, describe it as "lag" but in single player. Also had some issues with the game not recognizing when i passed a trigger point for it to start the cut-scene so i would have to re-play a segment to get it to work.

Pretty shitty review for the console versions from IGN (6.0 overall):

Quote :
"With serious stability and performance issues on console, level design that tends more toward turkey shoot than firefight, and a story and characters that stumble in their attempts at relevance and pathos, Medal of Honor walks into a quagmire it never really escapes from. "

I think this one safely qualifies as a pass.

downloaded the PC version last night and played the 1st few missions/objectives.. honestly, not impressed at all with this. IMO, feels like MW1/2 ripoff. dunno bout multiplayer but chances are good i won't even bother and just stick to BC2 for online play.

I rented this and while it is not underwhelming, it doesn't exactly whelm either. If you have BFBC2 on your shelf there is no point in playing this online for mulitplayer. The campaign is at the very least decent and I'll probably finish that and return it.

I am playing on hard, and I am stuck in one mission where you are a group of rangers that got ambushed, and now we're stuck at the little building and being surrounded by the Taliban, and we are running low on ammo and waiting for a group to get there to help us. Its like a horde mode in the campaign and I hate these kinds mission with a passion. Whelp, that does it for me with this game, I am through with it and about to take it back to the store. Medal of Honor has lost all respect with this kind of gameplay. I really really hate being stressed by a game that is not rewarding, and on top of that it just seems like something that you would put in a game when you can think of anything else that is challenging.

Last night I kicked my coffee table across the room and sent all kinds of shit flying after getting spawn sniped SIX times in a row in multiplayer.

I like the game because it is different than COD, but seriously the maps are way too open to the benefit of sniper classes. No killcam makes getting killed by a sniper insanely frustrating. The spawns are horrific.

That being said i am still playing it....
