haha, efficiency is fewer games is better than getting to the super bowl more times? no way 1/5/2010 10:25:01 PM |

it is when both teams have 5
would you rather have Dallas' 5-3 or Pittsburgh's 6-1? Dallas GOT TO the Super Bowl more times!

I have a positive bias towards the 49ers partially cause of the "historic era" of montana, young, rice, etc. Also, from my observation all the 9ers fans I know are hardcore fans through thick and thin. Unlike the Steelers fans who have greatly thinned out or the disappearing Pats fans. As shitty as the 9ers have been for the longest time, I guess you would have to be.

no its not... you both win 5... then one teams gets further than the other 3 more times, true they lose, but thats better than not getting there at all, 49ers could have lost the next 3, but they didnt even get to the game
^^ that's different because Pitt has WON more... but if wins are equal than I would rather go to more and lose then not even be good enough to go to more at all

^^yeah being a 9ers fan even as a secondary team is kind of like being a State fan, or a Bobcats fan...it takes dealing with a lot of losing
^when ANYBODY looks at NFL franchises and their success, they don't give a fuck how many times Dallas has lost the Super Bowl...heres the only thing people remember
Pittsburgh: 6 Dallas/SF: 5

well yea, but you are the one that brought up the comparison of the two 5 time winners, so in this case someone (you) is looking at details like that... so in that case its better to win just as many and at least get to more than not get to them at all
I assume you are trolling now... so throw in a random "Brady is clearly better than Manning" etc. and get it out of your system while I go to the gym

Getting there isn't worth a shit if you don't win.
5-0.

I love when Jaybee makes comments like this when his arguments get crushed...I point out the 49ers SB winning percentage being better than the Cowboys', after he goes ahead and acknowledges the head to head, so therefore I'm trolling...Mark Packer is spot on in his assessment of the Cowboys' fanbase

I do not see what teh fucking big deal is about ZOMG 6burgh. Someone was bound to win their 6th superbowl sometime. So are we going to have to hear the same obnoxious shit when [insert team] wins their 7th superbowl in 10 years??
IMHO being the first team to win the 5th or 10th superbowl is more of an accomplishment.1/5/2010 10:39:53 PM |

^the point is, and I don't like the Steelers, but the point is right now they have the most Super Bowls. Thats what it is, you can't argue with the numbers. The Steelers are the most successful NFL franchise, based on them having more titles than anybody else. Similar to the Yankees, Celtics, Canadiens...simple as that 1/5/2010 10:41:45 PM |

when the 49ers pull out their guns, they shoot them

^^ ah, so all those years they didnt make it they werent really trying... what a great team!!!
troll troll troll
It could be a legitimate debate if the 49ers had 1 more SB win, but they dont, its TIED. so throw the 5 wins out. then, after that, the Cowboys got further than SF ever did again, not once, not twice, but three times. Is that the same as winning? no, of course not, but if SB wins are tied you have to go to that level
and 1965-1986 without a losing record will never be matched, not even close

I strongly disagree. NC State is all about close calls and last second heroes/heartbreakers. Rivers and the Chargers have been too dominant for me to see a comparison, even when he played here.
I will be cheering for Jericho and that other NY team since the Giants didn't make it (plus I always love an underdog)

^ What are you talking about? The only former NC State player that is now a current professional (in any sport) that gets any kind of real national media attention is Philip. When I tell people I went to NC State occasionally people will say "Oh yeah Philip Rivers went there, he is pretty good". I've never, ever had any one say that about Adrian Wilson or Cedric Simmons or any other current pro that went to NC State.
Philip is easily our most recognizable athlete and thus he represents our university moreso than anyone else. This is has nothing to do with underdog shit or anything else. 1/6/2010 4:34:51 PM |
